Been vaping for 5 months now and also been DIY since the beginning. I have never had an issue with any nicotine/pg/vg. I recently purchased my first order if Capellas flavoring specifically the sweet strawberry. Also I switched to nicotine for MFS over wizard labs because of the stock issues the were having. Since the switch I have been mixing straight unflavored base and adding just a few drops of the Capella strawberry. I vaped this for a week and now my mouth is totally blistered on the inside. I also have made a lot of this for my friends and its pretty much the same thing with them. Could it be the actual flavoring causing this or could it be the nicotine. I am leaning towards the flavor cause I also mix other flavors for people with the same nicotine and have had no problems reported to me.

was thinking the same thing but didn't want to offend anybody.

??? its possible. I don't use gloves, but really should. This has happened to me before, and I only use WL. I rarely make juice for my friends though... maybe an extra 30ml to share when I "get it right".

or it could be an allergic reaction. My newest mix has 3x the TFA lychee of a favorite of mine. This certain brand/flavor contains Triacetin. Tonight I'm getting a raw feeling on my top left gums. Also my carto is dirty.

I occasionally have problems with mouth sores or irritation.:( The best solution I've found is to not let any juice get inside my mouth. However, when it has happened, the actions I've found to take include a thorough mouth cleaning with a toothbrush, toothpaste and water and a scrubbing of my lips, both inside and out with a damp washcloth. Microfiber seems to work best. I DIY, too, but haven't found any specific cause other than getting juice in my mouth. Maybe this suggestion will help you. :vapor:

I had problems with canker sores after quitting smoking and starting to vape. It didnt start until about three months after I was vaping full time. After doing a little research via google I found that canler sores are common for ex smokers. Im not sure if this is what you mean by blisters, but canker sores can be very painful.

Food for thought here.... it could be a contaminated juice or allergic reaction of some kind but it could also be just the fact that you quit smoking and your mouth no longer has access to the chemicals in ciggies and is reacting.

I read someplace to stay away from toothpaste that has sodium lauryl sylulfates or similar sulfates in them. Most all toothpaste does have these except most toothpastes for "sensitive" teeth. Swich to something like Sensyodyne toothpaste and after a week you may see a great improvement.

Since switching my toothpaste I havent had one canker sore.

Strawberry is a common allergy. I would consider going to a commercial juice until your mouth healed, then introduce one thing at a time - see if there's a reaction to your base. If not, then add flavoring etc. until you determine for sure what it is. I don't think developing sores is "common" or typical or ignore it. In a way it's good if it's painful because mouth cancers usually aren't.

The only problem I get is a dry mouth/sore throat, which is common since the VG absorbs moisture from your mouth. I don't use nicotine so that may be why? Maybe the nicotine causes the irritation? If it was just you that had a reaction, I would have guessed an allergic reaction but it would be very strange for you all to have the same allergy. What strength Nicotine base to you use and what is your target (final) strength?

The blisters persay aren't the same as canker sores. If you eat sour candy or even lemons the inside of your mouth kinda gets like burnt. No defined spots just kinda all over. More or less I guess you could say more parched. I drink a lot of water so I know it's not from dehydration.

The nicotine I start with us 60mg and my personal target is 12mg.

As far as the other people that are having this similar issue. I found out tonight that one of them is sensitive to citric acid and I am not sure if capellas uses citric acid in the sweet strawberry or not. She didn't even make it through 1 tanks worth before the irritation started. The others are new to vaping and after more conversation it seems its just dry mouth/throat issues from not drinking enough fluids. Mine however came after a week of vaping this one flavor at 1 drop of flavor per ml. I mix in 10 ml bottles and vape about 5 ml per day.

This sounds VERY much like a problem I was having. Kind of a raw, very uncomfortable, like I had eaten something too spicy or "juicy/candy". I searched all over and saw a lot about PG causing similar things. After playing around with all the factors in my juices I found that it was the VG! I have since changed to making nothing lower than 75% PG (usually >= 85%) and haven't had the problem since. (except when I try and use old juices up that I still have around. :) )

It was odd too because the problem didn't start until about a year into vaping. First I thought it was menthols bothering me.

This may not apply since it is only happening with one flavor for you. Just thought I'd throw it out there for everybody else as well.

I'll be the first to say, stop using it and tell your friends to throw it away. I use cap strawberry and so do my buds. Haven't heard of any blistering problems from anyone. I honestly believe that Cap strawberry is safe to vape, though it doesn't mean a vendor is incapable of dropping the ball. Hope you find out what is causing your unfortunate experience and let us know what happened.

I had this exact same problem. The way I fixed it was I tried different percentages of VG and PG and found out it was the VG. I then changed my juice to only 20% VG and 80% PG and the problem went away almost immediately.

I know some people have problems with PG, some have problems with VG .. in my case it is the VG.
