We need some standards so as to clean up this mess before Federal Laws get passed and limit our ability to DIY?

1) Ingredients List
A) Standard Ingredients.
- PG/VG/ISO % by volume. (Please Include PG/VG from other add ins like flavor, nic, color?)
- Nic Origen (actual manufacturer)
B) Other more individual ingredients.
- Other % by volume? (Total ingredients vs. Standard ingredients)
- Water % by volume. (Less water, lower vapor point or temperature!)
- Age of Nic & Mix date. (Some need to age, some like young some like old)
- List of Solvents: If "Home-made" or solvent extraction is performed on any ingredients to concentrate or isolate whats wanted from the unwanted.
(Solvents like H20, PG, VG, alcohol, C02, N02, petroleum, acetone, ISO, lighter-fluid.)
(Because some salvants are "less-toxic" than others in trace amounts: see objections by health organizations for lists)
- List of chemical ingredients FDA requires on labels like coloring, sugars, acids, & Flavor Stabilizers.

Ok... That's all I could think of.
If you agree, repost.
If you dis-agree... Don't copy, re-write your own list and get others to repost.
If you would like to add something repost and add your juice standards add on.

I will agree with you that e-juice standards imposed by vapers would be a good thing, certainly better than waiting for some government agency with no knowledge of the subject steps in to do it for us. Have a look here, these guys are already trying to do just that: AEMSA | American E-Liquid Manufacturing Standards Association :)

Yeah, go to the site and read the ridiculous standards that AEMSA has put together. No colorings? No WTAs?

I love the theory that, if we give away some freedoms the FDA will be appeased and go easy on us. That is an unrealistic view of the way the FDA works, and a bit naive. There is a reason the list of e-liquid suppliers buying into these standards is so short. I have little use for AEMSA.

Will do.! I just think that we can "self-regulate". Whenever you get "politics" involved the cost goes up... Fast.

This is a good idea, parts of it anyway.

Considering ECF is probably the largest e-cig forum on the net, I would assume that any consensus reached by the members here, would be widely adopted by e-cig/juice vendors.

I don't think we need to "regulate" per se........but requesting vendors to be more transparent, is a great step. I think most, if not all of the vendors I've seen so far really are doing a great job listening to their customers, and learning/growing/etc.

In my eyes, the more transparent a vendor is, the better. That doesn't mean I necessarily think we should REQUIRE this of a vendor.....but moreso should applaud the vendors who go the extra step.

I could not have said it any better than you just did!

It's not about "freedoms" it's about "harm-reduction" to the best of our abilities. And AEMSA is too far over to the controlling side of things. But if a vender uses "my foot in face" company's "home made" flavor additive: I want to know if they are mixing it in their toilet? China does not bother me because I know they are extremely clean (teaching and requiring absolute hygiene in school)
