Ejuice turning black in clearomiser, is this normal?

Hi there,

I am using a 2.4ml top coil clearomiser and have had a few juices which are a yellow tinge in the normal bottles, but when I start vaping them in the clearomiser they start turning a dark brown/black. Is this normal?? Any answers would be really helpful

Hmm , not sure . Could it be your e-juice is oxidising in sunlight or something ? Are you getting burnt taste ? Are you chain vaping? Do you get dry hits ? How long have you been using that clearomizer? Is this happening with all your juices?

Many of my liquids will darken with time, as well as with heat exposure. None go to full black, but they get dark brown maple syrup looking in my ego t and my clearomizer.

They are probably just burning some.. And the dark is mixing with the lighter juice..

When that happens chances are it's time to clean it. There are many videos on youtube on the proper way to do it, I will see if I can find one of the good ones and link it for you, it's very easy and it will make your clearo last much longer and taste better.

Chances are the heat is cooking it a bit. I will run a clearomizer 3-4 days until it gets really dark, then vape it down and clean it. I have noticed that some of the tobacco flavored juices actually improve when they darken a bit.

I've been using the clearomiser for about a week now and running it at about 4-4.2 volts and vaping pretty heavily. Will tip out the juice and clean the clearomiser and see how it goes. Thanks everyone for the advice!!

I've had some darker juices where I had to clean my clearomiser after every other tank. The juice would get so dark you couldn't see through it. Tiramisu in particular.

Yes, it is normal but still nasty to look at when it gets really bad. The heat from the center post and wick reacts with the nicotine and darkens the juice and causes it to thicken up a bit as well over time.
