Hi there,

I'm pretty new to the vaping world and it seems like everyone tends to have heaps and heaps of different types of ecigs, batteries, cartridges, clearomisers, drip tips etc. I just got a starter kit with a battery, an imist atomizer and 2 cartridge tanks... I bought a spare battery and atomizer so I could clean the atomizer when changing flavours. But I am wondering if you're supposed to have a few different set ups, or do people do that so they don't have to clean their ecigs each time they want to change flavours.

I bought my first top coil clearomiser the other day and it works well connected to the battery, but if I wanted to know how long they should last for? If anyone could let me know that would be great.

Cheers

Most of us develope a collection of stuff just because we're on a quest for the perfect vape and like to try everything out.

Bare bones what you need is a spare of everything so when something fails you are ok.
2 batteries, 2 chargers, 10-20 cartomizers and 15-50ml of juice should get you by for a month and just replace the cartomizers and juice when you get low.

I would say your main device and a back up with about a months worth of consumables is a good start. I like to have a back up for my back up and a couple of months worth of atomizers along with a good stock of juice. When I first started and just had 1 device I was always on the verge of resuming smoking if a battery went out or my juice order was delayed.

If you ever deal with power outages/blackouts, you need to have enough battery to get you through. I'm a bit paranoid, as we've had some extended outages in the last year (3 days, and 7 days), but not so paranoid as to collect heaps of equipment. I've got 3 ego batteries and a Bolt mod with 3 batteries, so with caution I could go a few days without power.

Sounds like you should stick with the imist for now. It's roughly equivalent to the ego-C I think, but with the rebuildable atomizer. They're both fairly modular. I think this is key to having something in your hardware setup.. something that can be easily cleaned, reused, etc.. Some things out there don't last as long and yet still charge around the same price. As for the clearo you bought, most can last pretty long, but some require a little fuss to either fill or take apart. Others require something silly to carry around, like a syringe. I don't know which you have. Many top coils also expect you to "tip" up every once in awhile to re-wet the wicks. That's not a big issue, but if you want a mindless vaping experience, that isn't really it. Bottom coils are different.

In Australia it's illegal for vendors to sell ejuice with nicotine in it however it is legal to buy ejuice with nicotine and liquid nicotine from overseas for personal use. It's a bit of a pain as postage can range from $10 to $60 when shipping from the USA but considering that a packet of 30 analogs costs $18 and I used to smoke between 35-40 per day, smoking analogs is REALLY expensive compared to vaping, not to mention it's so bad for you!

You only need one device and a back up I have 13 mods 1 in the mail and two being built. A takle box full of gadgets and gizmos. Mini oscilloscope Multimeter 6 cell battery charger, and cant wait for the next best thing I cant live with out!
Now lets talk Juice 12 30ml bottles of different flavors a gazillion 3ml samples and enough PG, VG, 10% nicotine and flavors to make a half gallon. If society collapses I may starve but I have guns and Vaping supplies!!!!
Almost forgot 8 AW 18650 IMRs 8 Trustfire 18560 flamers, 8 AW 18350, and 6 16340s

I thought I'd give the clearomiser a go because the place I buy my hardware said that if I want warmth then the top coil clearomiser would be good. She also said that normally clearomisers are crap and she has only used cartomisers for the past few years but apparently the one she got in is really good. I have to admit it is giving me warmth but I like to change flavours about and it's a bit of a pain. I had tried one of the mini cartomisers and found that every time I took a pull that I would hear a gurgling sound and get ejuice in my mouth, it was awful....

OK, that makes sense. Yeah, it should give you some warmth. Although I saw in your other thread that you were using ego voltage (3.3?), so that isn't going to help. At 3.7 it probably would produce what you want. Of course, going higher even more so. This requires a new battery though.

If you like changing flavors a lot, maybe you should just drip into an atomizer. Either that or buy some more tanks for your imist, and dedicate an atomizer and a tank to each flavor (doesn't hurt to use different flavors on the same atty either.. if you want. This is how I do it though. I cycle 3 constant juices in their own tanks, and have a few others around I reach for every so often)

I don't leave the house without enough equipment/juice/batteries to get me through 24 hours if need be. I learned this the hard way last year. I vaped from August -November, no cigs, and then got the call while at work that a family member had gone into hospice. I wasn't prepared... and I grabbed a cigarette when my batteries and juice wore out the next day.

Ok, let me take advantage of this post to put forth my dilemma: I have only been vaping for a couple of weeks, so I still don't know many tricks of the trade.

The natural thing to do would be just to relax and keep trying different stuff, taking advantage of the most experienced people on the forums.

However, I have a dilemma: I am going to move overseas in three weeks! I am going to an arab country, which should not have restrictions on e-cigs entering through customs. However, that region is so smoke-friendly that nobody is trying to quit, so I doubt they will be sold there. I think I will be able to buy supplies through international shipping, but those take several weeks to arrive.

So I basically need a 1-year supply (or more) of paraphernalia without being able to experiment much. I am using the Joye 510 and really don't have the time to try a different system.

Some important info on what I am doing:

- I am bad at upkeeping, and tend to lose things.
- I am a heavy vaper, as I was a heavy smoker;
- Doesn't matter the size or looks
- A case would be nice, maybe one with a charger and one without them
- The 18 mg dose seems to be right for me, but I haven't have the chance to try other doses;
- I have 2 batteries that came with the starter kit and don't last long. Hate to run out of power. Would love to have some that last longer and, if possible, some that I can leave on the charger without having to worry about overcharging (I heard that there are some batteries or chargers that turn off automatically);
- I only have the 3 piece setup so far. Some cartomizers are on the way, but I don't know if I am going to prefer them. It is better to have stuff for both the 2-piece and the 3-piece setups.
- I have bought some juice, and I don't know what the VG-PG combination is, and I don't know which one is best for me. I know that what I have is not purely some or the other. I did well with the blus (which I understand are 100% VG).
- If I buy large quantities of juice, I have to make sure they travel ok. What is the best protection in a suitcase?
- As long as I don't have to try different systems, I can afford the investment.

So I ask what should I buy in what amount taking into consideration that I won't be able to buy any more for possibly a year? Also, some information on the best places to ship overseas would be nice.
