You wouldn't have the nice things that you have today without some form of insanity. Hell, I bet Imeo whipped himself and ran naked on the streets for 2 weeks straight in order to come up with the GGTS, or something similar to that.

Jokes aside, the second Ekowool trial is going very well so far, crossing my fingers so that it will last for 2 weeks.

How come it is wicking fine with you is it krinkle? Is it 2mm or less?

It could be many things. It might be the krinkle method as it allows the juice to travel directly up to the top coil faster. It might be the fact that I'm using the Penelope, I don't know how it works in a Oddy, and I've heard mixed results for those that tried it with Ithaka. And yes, I'm using the 2mm hollow core Ekowool.

The Ekowool is really not that much different from the regular silica wick BUT the durability and the fact that you can slide two pins into the Ekowool to help stabilize it gives it a distinct advantage imo. The ability to stabilize is absolutely a must for me since I have to wrap dual coils around the wick without choking it.

Its my fault mentioning inserting silica inside the ekowool lol. Sub I think it will be your best wick. Ekowool should dry burn better. Try to keep it for a month and let us know lol.

Yeah so far it's vaping great! I was never someone who dry burned my wicks because all I vaped was bobas and it never seemed to work, it just tasted nasty after, but I will definitely try that with my new juice! Hopefully the sugar in the maple won't get nasty when dry burned... My next batch will use a different maple flavor though.

Hi Yankee,

I just don't know how to get on the site to buy the Wirewelder. I have registered twice now and I get an email saying welcome and that an admin will notify my when I am activated and then nothing, the first registration was months ago and now I have reregistered again last week. I really want to get that machine so if you have any thoughts, I would really appreciate them.

I just have to put in my two cents here, I have tried EVERY incarnation of Ecowool, from the hollow to the Cotton filled, and always boil them for a long time and torch the pure Ecowool, and for some reason i always end up getting a different taste from them, almost a sour overtone, and that is Krinkle and regular and backwards and forwards, it seems to give me a harsh throat after vaping for a long time, almost like my voice is hoarse, but that is just my experience, I am now just using 1.5mm silica in my Ithakas crossed with a non wired piece crisscrossing in between, using Ribbon wire 4mm, and it works great, great flavor and lasts for over a week, probably longer but I have to keep busy so I change them:p

thanks yankee:)
Imeo, it's getting it below 1ohm either way. But I believe most would be duals. At least for me it would be as you taking your two premades at 1.5 each. But on various wicking materials it's a matter of how it keeps up with wicking.
Eko with Krinkle may work for some at say 1.5ohms. But when you go below a certain level it can't keep wicking. Many factors of course.

Hey, it's a little complicated, but I see Ariel took care of you. :)

I'm running half krinkle with ekowool. I realized if you put your PV down, ekowool does not keep liquid like silica. It is always dry first puff.
What do you mean by half krinkle? Do you have one channel with eko and one without?
I actually felt when I had my krinkle setup that it held more juice with the mouthpiece closed.. Maybe I didn't put it down long enough for the wick to drain, though.
My ekowool with silica inside is still going very well, definitely liking this setup so far. The only way I won't go back to silica though is if I can dry burn the ekowool a bunch and get a long life out of it... Still want to experiment with full ekowool in the channels though.. It's just so much nicer to work with.. Still thinking about cutting slots in the ekowool in the channels

Exactly. I have twik running in ody. Half Krinkle. The channel that has it is the metal channel. This uses less wick still, while also feeding two ways and seems to help my dry hitting. Plus leaving the metal channel covered helps the grounding without tucking the wire under the delrin. I've been testing this a few times. Seems best in my setups. Only one that seems to work. I mentioned using this once before, and figured I'd bring it up again this week.

Hollow eko...... No go for me.

Just an update.. my silica/ekowool combo is still going good... unfortunately i think my DIY juice is gunking up coil pretty quick.. it has a maple flavor that actually contains maple syrup, so I think the sugar is gumming up the works.

I guess this will give me the chance to dry burn it. Just wondering, what do you guys do when you need to dry burn or refill but you still have a ton of juice in your Ithaka/Ody? I've been dumping the juice into a small bottle (depending on how the juice tastes... it can get kinda gross after too much gunk) - but I was thinking of putting my Ithaka upside-down and unscrewing the mouthpiece off all the way... if the liquid level is below the mouthpiece opening I could just keep it like that without wasting juice.

I really hope my Ithaka ships and arrives soon.. I will be in heaven when I can experiment with wicks and coils at my leisure, without rushing to get it done because I have nothing to vape!

Would you like to buy an Oddy or two?

Sub. I usually try to vape off whats left. If its only a little, then itll get dumped. Or i have a spare bottle and when i dump i see what its like. Coming from an iatty, its usually unusable. But from my ody, ithaka, or penny, its usually decent or even good.
I find its usually good or better pre dry burn. But if you dry burn, then refill onky to find its taste is off, then particles from the dry burn taint it

Yeah that makes sense.. most of the time I try to finish the juice off, too.. I shouldn't have filled my Ithaka to the top last night, because when I'm out of work today I will probably want to change coils or dry burn haha.

Yup. I wont recoil on thursdays, for example, unless i have to because weekend is right around the corner. Weekends give me better daylight and/or time. Im lucky to be down to weekly changes for most juices, unless i encounter a technical problem. :)

Yeah, I can usually rebuild after work (except tuesday and wednesday) but I get home around 6:00 and I have to leave a little after 9:00 to get my girlfriend, so it needs to be done before then.. hate having to rush it, too.. so if I actually set something up and it doesn't work out it blows.. having a second Ithaka will make that less stressful for sure :)

One of these days, though, I gotta sit down and weld seriously like 100 wires and just store them somewhere.. I think it'll save so much time in the long run.
