Wow! You guys really got the party on after I left! Guess I was the party pooper.

That mod that Alden posted may be my undoing!!;)

Good morning air heads!! :):)

Still no hall pass for you! The iTC looks like it will require a specific atomizer for TC with Kanthal. Not sure about the other wires yet. For it to work it's best, it'll probably be a somewhat closed system. =(

Morning, Airheads.
I hope one of you is enjoying a celebratory GS vape for having won the contest of the week. I'm wearing my retired erstwhile economist hat, and celebrating the doubly good news from Asia. Beijing public smoking ban begins - BBC News
For those who don't like the BBC, it says that China has done some serious things to restrict cigarette smoking. I like this, first because it will improve the health of hundreds of millions of Chinese smokers, eventually. Next, said the self-interested once and future economist, because this will inevitably lead to higher domestic consumption of vapegear.
Why, you ask, does this strange fellow in Maine care about Chinese domestic consumption of products manufactured in China? So glad you asked. It is about
economies of scale...a fancy term from the aircraft builders of WW II. Generally,
the more you make a thing, the better you get at making it (efficiency, learning curve, and other buzzwords), so unit costs go down. Also, you use more raw materials when you build more, so you can squeeze your suppliers for better (lower) materials prices.
Because your manufacturing costs go down, you can lower prices to your customers ...
including us Tootle Puffers. And they all vaped happily ever after the end---pass the popcorn.

So the Chinese smoking public gets healthier, and in time we get more shiny toys for our dollars, be they Canadian, 'Murkin, or Alph-Centaurian.

Wow! You built aircraft during WWII?

Conceptually, I think it's great. Joyetech is very reputable, as far as the vaping industry goes. They have too much to lose to mess up the engineering. The design may not be everyone's cup of tea but fixable with a wrap. The price ain't bad. While the battery capacity and chemistry are awesome, I hope that it is replaceable, even if requiring great effort or a trip to a service center (a la VaporShark). Remember that Joyetech can also utilize this technology in many more mods, in varying form-factors... I refrain from commenting more until I get one in my hand or see reliable reviews...

I am more interested in the engineering and components myself. Aesthetics carry less weight to me - flashy isn't my thing, but fit in the hand is. The VT seems to contend with an iStick 50w and it would be interesting to see what Joyetech could put out in the iStick 30W form factor.
Cheers
