Morning, R'man. I posted about this a couple of days ago, in detail. Short form:Strange thing happened this morning when unscrewing a GS Air M to fill it.

Looks like they use a little glue (or something) in an attempt to keep these two parts from separating.
Or maybe it was so it wouldn't leak?
I'm thinking of finding a tiny o-ring or using Teflon tape to keep it from leaking? Any ideas?
Has anyone who has disassembled an M or MS had any issues after reassembling?
a. no sign of adhesive.
b. Re-assembled by screwing the pieces back together...no leaks.
c. IF the threads don't engage immediately when you try to put it all together,
turn the long metal tube...on the right in your photo...attached to the top cap.
The chimney is a three piece assembly, top cap extension, bottom ring extension, and the cylinder in the middle, which threads onto both.
If the tank continues to come undone, your idea about Teflon tape is good. A single or double wrap of plumber's tape on both of the male threaded parts of the chimney should do nicely.
