Ah need more help now. Washed my tank out last night. Left to dry overnight. All dry this morning put in brand new coil. Primed it and filled tank. Flavour is crap with a hint of burning. ... is happening!!

Is it a different flavor? I would first lower the voltage or watts. It sounds like it is turned up too high. If lowering it doesn't work then it might be a defective coil.

When your saying drip liquid on the coil do you mean in through the top? Last time I tried that it gurgled??

When I put in a new coil I put 2 or 3 drops directly in the coil before installing it. I chain vape and haven't had any problem with the GS Air keeping up. I do have to use a lower wattage for my fruit vapes though. I use 6-7 watts.

No - on the sides. You'll see these little "slits" where the absorbent filler material is. I just dropped 2 or 3 drops in each of those before filling the tank. Never would have known there was a different juice in there beforehand.
This of course was after I had rinsed them thoroughly with hot water and let them dry overnight.

Ah right I've got a few I've been drying for a few days so when I get a chance will wash my tank and have a go :) i normally drip on the material to
I've seen people suggest dripping in the top hole onto the coil, personally i didn't think it sounded like a good idea

Yeah, I've never done that. Seems like it could cause leaking/gurgling.

So i got my tank yesterday and set it up today. I had to tighten the airflow since it was too open for me. Vapor is decent too. At first the flavor was acceptable, perhaps slightly less than my nautilus mini. Im using the istick 20w at around 8watts, which is actually 9watts due to the calibration of the mod. About 20 minutes into the tank the flavor has a slight plastic taste to it. Im using the stock coils that came with the tank. I also washed the tank and parts out before use just in case of machine residue.

Any ideas what im doing wrong?

No idea. I have great taste. First one I got, I had that "new tank" taste, but I washed the second and had no problems after that. I've heard that there is a "break in" period for most new tanks...

Probably nothing. I thought the flavor on my first coil ( the one that came with the tank) seemed a little off. The replacement coils seemed much better to me. I dunno if these coils pick up dust and odd stuff in the air as they travel across from China, but my fresh coils from the blister 5 pack have all tasted better than the first one.

You might want to try wash of vodka or pure alcohol like everclear grain alcohol. A hot water bath didn't improve the flavor much on my first coil. Although mine didn't taste like plastic... I would've described it as a musty or dusty thing.

So many variables with any coil it seems.
From juice viscosity, variations in ohms, oil or manufacturing contamination and now dodgy juice.
I can only imagine the feedback the manufacturers get when they introduce a coil.
I thought Troubleshooting computer problems was difficult?!?!
Yep, I'm the one that puts a couple of drops down the center hole to prime my coils, but I use
needle nose applicators on my bottles. I guess it would be nuts if you use the manufacturer's
drip type bottles. Mea Culpa!

Boy you said a mouthful there, Cheechako. I have tried many tanks and clearos and with a lot of them, I got a metallic taste to my juice. The last one I ordered was an IClear 30. I really liked the IClear 16s but they didn't hold enough juice, so I figured I would love the 30. The one I got smelled terribly of some kind of manufacturing oil. Almost like the smell of an auto body shop. I tried everything to get that smell out of it, to no avail. I have had very few problems like that with the GSA, with the exception of my first tank, which had that "new tank" taste. My bad, as I didn't wash it prior to the first filling. Since then, it's smoooooth vaping. :vapor:

I can not speak to the GS air's coils directly as mine (purchased thru a co-op are still sailing the seas) are not here yet, but I have been rebuilding dual horizontal coil heads for a innokin X.l for quite a while. I use rayon and do prewet the coil from the sides and top with juice before installing. I mount it in the atty, give it a quick blow out the bottom on to a paper towel and go to town. Never had a problem. :)
