replacement coils from FT finally arrived! in Eleaf boxes, but not in blister packs.. look exactly like the ones I first bought from sweet-vapes! knurled top, chimney, etc.
Thanks for the update. Please stop enjoying the warm weather (almost up to freezing in the Mid-coast), start puffing, and let us know how they work.

great to see another Mainah! warm weather?! LOL I'm in the Sebago Lake area.. barely hit 38 today! I work overnights and sleep all day, so I would have missed it anyway.

I do have some that need new coils- I'll report on function asap.

Thanks very much. You folks in tropical Southern Maine get all the nice, warm weather. We still have ice on the Dyer and Sheepscot Rivers above the reversing falls. Good excuse to stay by the woodstove and look at them from a safe distance.
I'm guessing that the coils from FT may not be "authentic" from an IP Law viewpoint, but probably came from the eleaf mfr. source. And if FT was kind enough not to charge extra for the chimney or knurls... Look forward to your review.

Life is good. When things work as they should, feels great!

now I wait and see what the replacement coils are like from another order- but at least I know I have a good stash that will work in the eGrips, and of course they all can be rebuilt! (if I ever feel like it)

Ok, I cleaned my tank and loaded up one of the chimney-less coils and so far so good. Been vaping on it for about an hour no gurgling.

Will let you all know if that changes. Real test will be it's first vape tomorrow morning.

Unfortunately, there was a little gurgle when I got up this morning. It only happened while holding the tank vertical, but it indicated juice is getting past the o-ring on top of the chimney-less coil.

I was able to fix it by using the q-tip I already used to help dry the tank. I had removed most of the cotton so it fits inside the drip tip and the tank's chimney. I held the tank upside down and inserted the q-tip until it stopped. That soaked up the excess juice.

Vaped on it all day at work with no issues. Got home and again noticed a slight gurgle when vaping vertically. Fixed that by the above method in about 10 seconds.

I know vaping vertically is not normal, but I do it when I am low on juice sometimes to ensure the wick remains saturated.

I can live with this workaround for now. If more people experience similar results from the new coils we can contact Eleaf.

Please post your experiences with the new coils, good or bad, so we can get a consensus.

That's great to know! I am expecting a couple of egrips from a co-op buy soon. It would be nice having a common coil between the airs & grips ;)

It's why I bought the air to begin with. Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled that I did but it was the primary reason.

I couldn't stop futzing with this tank, I was unable to get higher than 8-9 ohms on the stock coils with my very high VG, homemade
juice. I figured it was because it wouldn't wick enough...
So I took a stock coil and swapped out the liner for the new liner made of gauze. Wow, 17 ohms and it's great!
Flavor is nowhere near rayon, but it hits like a Mack Truck!
Now I know what you folks were experiencing with the stock coils.

Is it possible that the recessed gasket on top is doing this?
Sure would like to put a caliper on both tanks and see if there as a minute difference.

Though the gasket is recessed, the coil body is taller, and from the looks of this picture, it seems the gasket sits higher. I'm wondering if it is getting over compressed and that is causing the leakage.

I see someone put a GS Air coil in an eGrip and that worked. Those eGrip coils look identical to the old GS Air coils. Has anyone put an eGrip coil in a GS Air?
