Lynn, nichrome and nickel are two different things. I think Katya mentioned nichrome.

Oh, in that case, nichrome is very similar to kanthal. Most (if not all) of our stock coils are made with nichrome wire.

I've had a 28g nickel build in my Lemo II for 3 weeks now. It still looks and works great. .087 ohm. 18-25j @ 420. MFS has Kanger OCC Ni coils on sale.
I saw that posted somewhere else as well. But my bank account is saying oh hell no to buying anything right now so hopefully, I'll be able to pick up some somewhere before the end of June when the eVic-VT gets here. If not, I'll just build the OCC coils I already have with Ni200 wire. I've also seen where I can buy ni200 coils already coiled to put in the SubTank mini rba so I can go that route as well.

Well, Temco anneals their kanthal. Most resellers (LV) just rewrap Temco's wire, I believe, so whatever they put on their label is not all that reliable. None of this is simple... Having said that, everybody agrees that Temco makes the best kanthal.

Hmm. I remember reading recently (of course I have no clue where now) that Temco wire is made here in the US (says so on their own website), where LV's stuff is from overseas. Its definitely cheaper cost wise than Temco's stuff so makes you wonder. I got my 26 gauge spool a couple weeks ago from LV, and it was half the price Temco's was so I just bought it regardless. The only actual Temco spool I have is the old 32 gauge I bought last year when I was still using Protanks heh. After I got my first Kayfun Lites I bought my 29 gauge from LV since it was cheaper but eh Im still alive (for now) so it must not be that bad of Kanthal wherever its from. A search on Amazon reveals quite a few different vape vendors selling spools now, so its gotta be coming from somewhere else at a lower cost nowadays.

I really have no clue--I just read different accounts here, now and then.

Yup--there's kanthal everywhere... I've used Temco, LV (which I believed was also Temco), and various unnamed samples from e-cig vendors--they all worked and I'm still alive, too. I also know folks who bought kanthal from FT--haven't heard from them in a long time...

Thank you! I have no idea what to choose - many of the things on the list I have only heard of in passing. And of course, I have to leave in a few minutes for a doctor's appointment. I never win anything, so this is such a nice surprise.
Thank you ECF!
the selections will have been whittled down by the time it comes to choosing for you and tweety ;) but that might make the choice easier!

My understanding is LV imports it's kanthal from China. Companies like vapowire are simply re-spooling TEMCo wire and slapping their own label on it. Vendors are selling it at an overall markup of 450%. Caveat emptor...
