Susan, I didn't like the eGrip. I'm a flavor changer so I get bored easily and with the tank being on the inside I didn't like having to take it apart to empty it. Plus while filling it, I always made a mess with the liquid filling up the entire area where the fill port is. I wound up trading mine for my first 30W istick.

Very nice I just tried this with a fresh coil. Figured it was about time to open a new one anyway, I've been using the coil it came with since I got it in February. It worked great, it didn't go all the way on but a bit of pressure on the top with a wrench closed it.
Another thing happened I took off the base after about 15 vapes off the air and I heard a crunch while opening, I broke the seal. So next cleaning it should come fully appart. Thanks

I'm wondering those of you that have the eGrip and a GS Air... Any difference in the vaping experience? I'll be buying locally the non oled version.
I think I like the egrip better but using the rba not stock coil, haven't tried it without the rba in a while. I also never tried to rebuild the stock head either, it can be done the same way as the gs air. The egrip is good, flavor and vapor is very satisfying but I can't get it much higher than 8 watts without a dry hit. For a true comparison I would have to use the same flavor in both but my tanks are always for dedicated flavors. I do believe I get more consistent hits off the egrip I sometimes get dry hits off a rebuild on the gs air especially in the first few days. Be prepared for a gurgling drip tip on the egrip though it doesn't leak but a lot of build up just below the tip.

so when is cheech sending out those blocks? :?:

morning, y'all!
Morning, Lady of the Enduring Spirit Skillet.

Have you heard of the iSmoka Eleaf Kanger consiracy to make coil builders life easy?
No, I haven't gone over to the Dark Side yet, but have been considering it. Biggest worry was how to immobilize the coil in a block of scrap pine. Just found the solution.
Have some odds and ends in the box where I collect coils for eventual dispatch to Cheech's Coil Mortuary and Resuscitation Facility, LLC. There was a Kanger Unitank Mini base in there, the sole remaining piece from a sad meeting between the Uni plastic tank and a mildly acidic tropical flavor juice...
To make a short story longer, the Air coil screws perfectly into the Unitank base (which probably means it will work with any Kanger Protank II base...they use the same coils). I screwed a 510/ego adapter onto the Uni base. Now I just have to drill a hole in the pine with the same diameter as the Uni base, or just a fraction smaller.
I could countersink the bottom of the block, paint it paisley with racing stripes, but
the simple, important part is sorted.

PS- Having the coil affixed to a gripable (is that a word?) base, I tried rocking it back and forth in a full size Unitank topper. Rock...rock...rock... and Voilà! Off popped the coil top.
Thanks, Cheech!

I've always put mine in an old T3S base, hold the base with pliers, used another pair of pliers on the coil cap and rock, rock and the cap pops off. I honestly don't think I put enough pressure on the cap to damage it because I have carpal tunnel syndrome in my right hand so my hand strength isn't that great. But I'm going to try Cheech's new method this afternoon.

I like the egrip but find the vaping experience completely different from the air. As most here know, the egrip is my grab & go setup for errands, meetings, etc. Changing flavors doesn't matter as much because I have several setups, and I just keep the same flavor family in it at all times.

I find that the vapor is denser in the egrip than in the air, and the flavor seems different between the 2 (even with same liquid). I tend to vape different with the egrip because of its form factor, although smaller ergonomically it isn't as comfortable to use (might be drip tip to device difference).

All that said, I like the device & bought a second when the first one broke. I'll probably get another if this one goes.
