Like Lightning Vapes, it's probably made in China. Consistency is a problem. So resistance may vary 0.1Ω from coil to coil. No big deal...
Good to hear!Yep! Have some...just like any other Kanthal! Lol

Since the thread is 'Air Fans", we'll let you slide.Ok....getting away from vaping stuff for a minute...I have a ceiling fan in my kitchen that has the light kit attached to the fan itself. For the past month, the only way to get the light to come in is to fiddle with the bulb. I've been waiting to come home to a burned down house. So this morning, I went to Lowes to see about a light to put in the kitchen. Low and behold, there's a ceiling fan, light kit sitting there for $29.98. Perfect size and everything!! Now....guys...are ceiling fans hard to install?

Oo-o-oh, could you keep your eye open for a Gillette fat boy or Schick Krona Double edge razor? Need the Fat Boy for my collection![]()

It depends on what you're doing... changing the light kit or replacing the whole fan with light kit. For me - no, but it depends on how much experience you have. If you're going to replace the whole thing, it will be more involved. If you're just going to replace the light kit (as long as it's a universal kit and it's going to line up to the old fan), it shouldn't be that difficult. If it's the lighting that is faulty (maybe a loose wire or worn out light fixture), I'd grab just a light kit and just replace that.
If the junction box and wiring are already in place (I assume they are since you already have one installed), it's a 30 min job; easy-peezy. Check online for the instruction manual before you buy the unit. The directions are usually pretty good and will tell you what you're getting into before you get into it...
It should involve turning some screws and a couple of wire nuts...
Also Lynn, if the bulb is acting up, shut the power breaker off and take the bulb out and look at the inside center of the fixture. There's a small square brass or copper 'pin' or lead. Make sure it's making contact with the center of the bulb. I usually use a little screw driver to pull it up a little bit. Did you change the bulb on there. Could be just a bad bulb?
Ballasts go bad in those type of fixtures but I never heard of a ceiling fan with that type of fixture in it unless your talking about the newer CFL's (Compact Fluorescent bulb)? This bulb is one of those fluorescent ones
Half the battle is as previously stated, the junction box is stabilized for a fan, rest is easy!Ok....getting away from vaping stuff for a minute...I have a ceiling fan in my kitchen that has the light kit attached to the fan itself. Oops, replacing is relatively easy, go slow, shut off the breaker and read the instructions! The light kit came on the fan when we bought it about 15 years ago. It's not replaceable except by replacing the whole thing. And I have no experience doing this whatsoever! Lol
Yep! It's just a question of taking down the old fan and putting up the new one.
This bulb is one of those fluorescent ones and I tried another bulb but had to do the same thing. It was to be wiggled, turned, loosened and tightened. And the whole assembly is loose.
Glad you found treasures! Even if it wasn't a Gillette Fat Boy...Sorry, Cheech!
But I got a spice organizer for my juice shelf and a chocolate tin to store my rebuilding gear, decorated with a little Renoir.

I'm conversating at the moment to help her. Wish we were closer or I'd just go over and fix it for her.Oops, replacing is relatively easy, go slow, shut off the breaker and read the instructions!
Google fan replacement and watch the videos...they make it look easy!
Thanks IMRs! You're so sweet!!
But, as I told IMRs in our conversation, the fan will have to be replaced. I CAN do this!! I'll just keep repeating this!![]()
