My question though Cheech is why you'd want a TC mod if you're not going to use the TC capabilities? Temperature control is what I'm excited about. I've heard many of my friends who have TC mods talk about how much better liquids taste in TC. That's what I'm looking forward to.

I was just checking out a new mod that senses if it's TC or not. It changes modes automatically. (Snowwolf200). :)
Those are a bit out of my price range! $110 at gear best plus the price of 4 batteries(2 in use, 2 charging) as well.

Will TC mods work with regular coils, just no TC mode?
My ignorance is shining like a beacon!
Someone light a candle rather than curse my darkness...
With a kanthal build you would have to run the TC40W in wattage mode. No big deal.
I am hoping for Chee and IMRs to put together a new Ni coil rebuild video.

My speedometer goes to 120, but I don't drive that fast!
I was just curious if that was the case. My shinyitis is over until I re gear completely, and the last time I did that was to go from Mini Pro Tank II to the GS Airs.

It has been my experience, rebuilding dozens of TC setups for others, that those who think TC makes their e-liquids taste better never learned to build and power their atomizers correctly. I have no experience with pre-built TC heads. They may improve the vape, especially on marginal equipment.

I'll leave that to the professionals, I'll be using Kanthal for some time!
I'm sure IMRs could be persuaded to arrange the soundtrack for someones new video...he's the Danny Elfman of rebuild videos!

Elev3vape has them shipped for 88.34 (5off coupon).
Lol...still out of my price range!! But thanks! I can't think of any reason whatsoever as to why I would need 200W. My isticks, all of them including the 50W have never been above 18W. If I go higher that that even with a 1.0 ohm coil, the liquid tastes burnt and the vape is too hot.

I might be wrong but I can't see them as being so much different than any other coil that we've seen??

Alden, these folks rebuild their own heads. One is using a protank 2 on hers with nickel coils that she built. I guess I need to get someone to rebuild my stuff.

That's what I think IMRs. The person that taught me to build coils for PT's and T3S's builds nickel coils for her PT's that previously held Kanthal coils to use on her TC mod.

I don't get any flavor difference in TC but it does give an even consistent vape. A good hit every time without heating up when you fire longer. I haven't tries Ti wire yet but some say they get a much better vape.

So, as long as you use the correct metal for making the coil, any head can become TC?
For TC to work properly the coils need a good connection to prevent small resistance changes. Some attys are working better than others. I would recommend a rebuildable with screw connectors.

That's what I think. When I preorder the TC istick, I'm also ordering a pack of coils and you'd better believe that I will tear one apart. I may use it first though! Lol

I can see where TC could improve the vape on a PT2. I've been rebuilding RTAs & RBAs not clearo heads. TC could very well tame clearos, especially the older designs...

I still think it comes out as to how the heads are built though so I'm going to agree to disagree. I've read that a lot of folks are saying the SubTanks with the occ coils say they don't work very well so I asked a friend who has a fancy TC mod about this. He rebuilt one of his ST OCC coils and tried it and said it worked great. And I trust his opinion.
