So Cal
A simple update on Melo coil in Atlantis tank.

Last coil I replace was at Feb 27th, and now already March 4th. It's a full 6 days vaping adventure with them ( 4-6ml /day) , and still going strong ( I hope )
Eventhough with those spits and gurgles, I never use Atlantis original coil last more than 5 days. This 2nd Melo coil I use is OK.

Edit :

I got curious and take a quick check

I think it's time to change the coil.

There's black-ish loose cotton tangling on the coil. This thing make me have to change coil.

After all, it's not too bad

6 days is good. Do you rinse and dry coils when you change eliquid? I started to do that in a rotation, and I'm getting 2 weeks + out of coils now.

What is the ohm rating of the Melos coil? Are they sub ohm like the stock Atlantis coil?

Yes .5 ohm, not sure if they offer a higher res one too.

the holes on the coil dont have to match up with the cutouts. if you look there is sufficient gap between the coil and the cutouts for juice flow.

The are already low on the Aspire coils, I can only see half above the lower silicone seal... not sure if I'd want them lower.

Rinse? And dry? Any link or do you mind sharing how you do that and 2 weeks is a WOW!!

So far so good. Much better flavor with the MELO coils.
I agree
Flavor is good.

Sure I'll share...

With every eliquid change I take a coffee cup and fill it with very hot, near boiling water, drop dirty coil head into water and let soak. Change out hot water again in an hour or two, and again in another hour or 2. Then I airdry over night, and then place coils on top of my cable modem (warm) to dry completely. I find that by rotating coils in and out I am getting much more consistent performance, flavor, and coil longevity!

YMMV!

So, the hot water will soak and cleanse the whole coil ( cotton and spring inside the coil housing ) ? How long will it take to completely dry ?
That sound easy ,eventhough it's time consuming, but hey, we can just leave it sit there, right ?

what is everyone's thoughts on the atlantis coil heads now found on FT. it's good there are now alternatives to paying for the pricey authentic Atlantic replacement coils.. You can purchase a 10-pk for ~$11 on FT, granted the shipping time is going to suck, but it'd be nice to bundle up with an order if you're already purchasing something else.

Shipping time sucks is an understatement... I placed an order for those and some subtank coils on Jan 25th.... STILL HAVENT RECEIVED! FT NEVER AGAIN!

I think they sent it via rowboat powered by two one armed peasants!

Dang that sucks. I know that with these it says 5-7 days lead time I believe.. But even still. I ordered a SMPL from them 1/29 and I got it finally on 2/20. I also used the epacket upgraded shipping thing. But there was also a huge port strike in LA.

Sent from my using my

I have three Atlantis tanks, all still using non-cotton coils. Just bought a 5-pack each of the Melo coils and the Atlantis cotton coils to do a straight up comparison. I don't mind paying a few extra bucks if the real Aspire coils are better but we'll see.

do a test comparison on your last tank with a FT replacement coil as well.

I've got melo coils in my Atlantis and I find if theyve been sitting and the juice goes cold they take a bit of time to warm up, when I first start vaping I get a few dry hits but after a few minutes and when the juice warms up and after a few primer puffs it's fine. I'm vaping 70/30 vg/pg. I didn't have that problem with the stock coils. They seem to last about the same amount of time as the stock coils. They do work fine after breaking in. I think maybe the lower juice holes may be the problem.
