These are my favorite drip tips.

The blue one is glass. Both serve to cool down the vape. Vapor will condense inside both and you can see it inside the glass one. Notice both have dual O-rings. That makes them very stable less likely to fall out. Sometimes, larger O-rings are needed as not all manufacturers machine the 510 drip tip hole to the same diameter or depth. The glass one is angled and I like it better as I don't have to tilt the whole rig up. Notice the wide bore on the glass one, both at the 510 end and the mouth piece. The SS one is a standard hole ie smaller. I like to use the wide bore on high airflow attys. But the SS one on the right also makes a decent tool for taking the BVC coil cartridge apart LOL.

To rebuild a cartridge simply put a screwdriver through the hole in the bottom pin like a T-handle and pull the bottom pin out, then pull the insulator out (tweezers help), grab the coil legs and pull both at the same time (fingers or wide tip/parallel jaw pliers). Helps to pull gently and wiggle. This will pull the wicking and coil out together but leave the sleeve and screen inside the cartridge body. Then remove the stock wicking and rewrap the coil with KGD and reinsert into the cartridge body, insert insulator with the outside coil leg on the outside of the insulator and the inside coil leg on the inside of the insulator. Then reinsert pin.

You can reuse the coil or make your own on a 4mm mandrel.

There is an alternate method. There is a metal sleeve in the body with two flanges/slots. You can get that whole sleeve/wick/coil assembly out at one time. First remove pin and insulator. Now place a rod or socket of the right diameter in the top and while holding the cartridge body with a pair of pliers, tap the sleeve out with a hammer. Shown below, the long ribbed SS drip tip fits perfectly for this purpose. Lightly tap the bottom of the drip tip with the hammer. The sleeve will pop out. Don’t squeeze the body with the pliers too tight as it will crush it. The bodies are thin wall brass with chrome plating. Just position the pliers so the jaws catch the top lip of the cartridge.

Then rebuild with KGD, insert insulator and pin into sleeve. Optionally rewrap paper around sleeve, I didn't. Then put that assembly into the cartridge body and squeeze together with pliers.

Awesome, thanks for the info on rewicking. Could you provide link so I can look into those drip tips?

Thanks again,

I received a MELO yesterday. Cleaned, then filled it. Let it sit for awhile and then started vaping. Amazing flavor, and quite a cloud compared to what I am used to. This is my first subohm tank. My drip tit fits tight unlike I read earlier. The only gripe I have is the airflow ring is hard to turn. The flavor is amazing so far. It has a different draw than what I am used to so I will adjust.

Overall I would say it is great. I'm going to try a different juice in a little while and see how that compares. For those contemplating the first try on a sub ohm... you cant go wrong with this one. Great price and great performance so far for me.

Just wanted to chime in here, havent read the whole thing, so I apologize if this is already old news.

I have an Atlantis clone which really got me interested in the Melo and it's coils, so I got both. It's a very solid tank, especially on the bang for buck scale. I was finding the draw a bit tighter then the Atlantis and that got me fixated on the pin which limits rotation of the airflow ring. So I pulled it out! Does it make a huge difference, probably not, but it sure looks better now! ;)

In addition, my drip tip broke out of the box, a big thanks to Sweetvapes for having no issues on sending a replacement.

OK, I'm getting confused. Someone set me straight on the Eleaf MELO. Organic cotton wick , or mystery stuff like the Aspire Atlantis? Eleaf advertises it as organic cotton. Please confirm .

I can't confirm the actual material all I know is it was crumbly stuff that appeared visually and felt between my fingers like the crumbly stuff in the Delta II cartridge. So I suppose it is possible they chopped up OC into very fine and short fibers and then mashed them together to look like MMMF. Either way, I used strips from OC pads that have long aligned fibers on the rebuild.

I've been debating between Kanger and Melo for my iStick 30w. Pretty much a newbie on vaping - just started back in December. My first set up was a MVP2.0 using a Nauti Aspire Mini, but I just got an iStick30w (which I really like!) and I starting thinking I'd rather go with the Melo at first than spend the bucks on a Kanger. I've heard the Kanger leaks some, and I just don't want to deal with having to wipe down all the time. I'm still learning about sub-ohming and such so I figured throwing a Melo on the iStick would be a good way to test it all out.

both are good tanks, price is right buy them both, cheaper than cigs, subohm or not dont matter, both are way better than the naut mini.
btw u will need more juice, why, 2 reasons, they consume more than the naut and you wont be able to stop vaping them, yes its a new addiction, it was for me anyways but one im happy to "live" with

I've been flying through liquid but loving the Melo. I believe the Melo was the original "Atlantis killer"...who knows

I think the Atlantis is safe IMO....I find the Atlantis WAY better for wicking high VG Juice. My Melo will not vape above 25W without that dreaded Burnt Coil taste....I can Chain Vape with the Atlantis at 35W no issues at all. Lower Wattage's the Melo Runs fine.

I also have an issue with how darn hard it is to turn the Melos Air Adjusting Ring...Forget about trying different airflows, its a Set it and Leave it type adjustment at least mine is. I seriously have to get small pliers to adjust this ring! I prefer the Atlantis Sorry Joytech! I really wanted to love this tank as Joytechs service to me has been above the call, and Aspires not so much....Unfortunately the Atlantis is a much better tank. At least with stock .5 Ohm coils.
