Now there's something that I could see a premium price tag being justified

The Japanese use a technique called mokume gane to fold
Precious metals like gold, silver and copper to make jewelry

A copper, silver, and gold mokume mod would be sick.
As .....

My family biz deals in hand made swords.
I looked into having folded steel body mechs made. Very very expensive to make correctly.

Nice!
I've dabbled with knife making, and I've played with some pattern welded steel.
Swords are a different animal and much harder to make.
Very cool family biz Mr. Pink! I have a soft spot in my Ninja heart for sharp objects and the folks that make them.

I've seen pics of a "Damascus" box mod that looked fantastic.

I totally identify as Ninja.
I hate Pirates.
I own a Ninja uniform (thats right, it is not a costume)
and I have voted Ninja since 2000.

Doing a box mod crossed my mind as well. Again stupid expensive and difficult to work with.

There are cheaper and easier ways of doing it, but then you risk de-lamination of your steel(and other issues), which is the last thing in the world I would want to risk if I DID do a small production run to sell. Now being that any folded steel mod of any sort is going to be expensive by nature I think it is safe to assume that it would not be a daily use mod BUT again, personally if I have to charge a high premium for a product it is not satisfactory enough to have it be pretty to look at but problematic in other areas.

tldr: my dreams of breaking into the HEM biz are on hold.

I got one!! I am 1 of 14 lucky people that scored this Unicorn. I got it direct from Harry the Owner/Designer/Modder. I met up with him earlier last night to pick up mine which is actually 1 of 4 produced for Friends/Family these are serialized with a negative number (-002) leaving 10 which were sold in minutes even at a price tag of $1,500.00 at Vape Revolution. I even had him sign the box to make even that much more personalized.

The cost of materials alone is pricey let alone the hours of work to do each one. If you even have a clue on how to work on Damascus you will know that acid etching takes time and precise calculations.

But there it is... fit, form and function is all there as with all of the other products produced by Element Mods but in hand feel is unlike any other. I have knives that cost more but since they use carbon steel Damascus in most blades if you don't take care of them they will rust. The "5th" is made from Blue-Tongue double Stainless Steel 304 and 316 and is not produced in the U.S.

It is pretty, but I could never justify spending that much on a mod. I've had factory custom firearms that didn't cost that much.

Guess I am a cheap guy because of my 7 bought off the wall guns only one cost more.

But I couldn't justify that price either but again I do feel it is justified.
