eLiquid getting nasty taste

Ok, so i'm wondering if anybody here can shed some light or maybe at least has experienced this before? In the past 6 months or so, i've had a few random bottles of juice (all had them for at least a couple months by this point) develop a very disgusting taste. I don't even know how to describe it, but it's a very nasty, almost kind of burned, but dirty taste. It's a VERY distinct taste, and it was exactly the same in several different small bottles of juice. One was a random tobacco, one was HV Blueberry, one was HV Whisk Licker and one was CC House Blend. Except for the 2 Hot Vapes juices they've all been from different places, bought at different times. I noticed that they all had been to work with me(or at least most of them, there were a few more than the 4 I listed I just can't remember). Is it possible maybe that link from my work pants has somehow gotten into all these different bottles.

I really wish I could describe the taste better but I really don't even know how to. ANYBODY have any ideas what in the EFF this is?

That's almost certainly your equipment, not the juice.

No, definitely not. Every time I tried it on several different atomizers and devices, including a band new carto for the Copper Creek House Blend and the Blueberry. I've experienced it on my Provari, my P+ AND my Silver Bullet. Trust me, i've experimented A LOT, and no matter what combo the taste was there. My equipment was what I always thought it was at first until I started trying it on different devices. It's definitely the juice. Sorry, I should have posted that from the start.

I should also mention that it's been VERY spaced out. I don't usually experience it but every 2-2.5 months or so. It started like a year ago, and it's only happened maybe 5-6 times. Is it possible little bits of lint or SOMETHING is getting in the bottle. Maybe when I unscrew it and screw it back on. I usually drip at work because it's the most surefire way with an extra atomizer or 2 in my back left pocket at all times.

Have you revisited them... I ask only because every once in awhile I get into a funk..nothing tastes right..for me it takes a little menthol or lime based juice to get my taste buds back on track. One other possibility is storage..are you keeping your juice out of sunlight etc. they don't like heat

If your certain it isn't an equipment issue, then maybe your juice has been in fact contaminated. This happened to me once before at my own workplace.
We have a cutting fluid called Moly-D used for tapping and if the stuff gets on anything you cannot get the smell out. Some oils or chemicals will permeate like that even if you don't expect them to. I was handling one of my e-cig tanks with the very, very slightest amount of that Moly oil either on my hands or clothing.. and I wash my hands a lot at work. Especially if I'm fiddling with my e-cig.
My tank was contaminated and everything tasted awful. Had to clean it all out with alcohol (vodka yay!). I may have had a sip or two in the cleaning process

So in short, there is a chance that your juice was contaminated with something you may have had contact with. I don't know what your line of work is, so you may not be exposed to a lot of chemicals or solvents like my job. It's hard to imagine how you could have ruined a whole bottle, but like I said, some compounds don't work well with others, or permeate into things in an unexpected way.

OR - maybe the juice after steeping long just tastes nasty

Thanks for the responses. If it were just one juice I would assume it went bad or something. But it has happened with at least like 5 different juices, and they all had a VERY distinct disgusting taste. I can't describe it, kind of burnt, but at the same time not. I was thinking maybe the lint from my work pants is getting into the bottles since I drip at work and as far as I can remember it's always happened at work. I really have no idea. It's definitely not juice juice gone bad because it's a very distinct taste like I said and happens instantly. I'm still working this out.

From the sounds of it its a similar taste with multiple juices from multiple vendors? Is it possible that the attys your keeping in your back pocket are getting the lint? Maybe your frying pocket fuzz!
I too get desensitized to flavors a bit from time to time. Its like my taste buds take a break once in a while. But it sounds to me too like its something equipment related.

YES! I have had this happen on several of mine as well...all by different vendors. They smell and taste old and stale! I changed equipment and it is exactly the same. It seems to happen to more of my juices that contain vanilla or tobacco but did also happen to a fruit.

I've been racking my brain on this... I've vaped juice that was over a year old and while it didn't taste as good, it didn't have the burnt taste. I've only ever had that taste from pushing a carto too hard or running it too dry. But I also tend to avoid dark liquids, maybe that has kept me in the clear

I really wish I could describe the taste, I really think pocket lint is somehow getting in my bottles because it's a burnt, fabricy (just made that word up haha), taste but almost in a metallic way similar to a short on a genesis. I'm glad i'm not the only one to have this happen. It's definitely not nicotine, or ANYTHING that is supposed to be in there. It's something that seems to happen instantly.

For example, I will be happily vaping all day. Next vape break, it will suddenly have this taste. One day I brought my Provari to work with a carto full of Copper Creek House Blend. I also had 2 306's (always have 2 306's at work, every single day) and I used it in all 3 and it got the same nasty taste. When I got home I moved the devices to my SB, same thing. It's such a distinct taste that it's happened and after one rip of that taste I think to myself "AHhhhh dammit!! I don't have any other juice with me!" I end up just switching back and forth from atty to atty, and washing them out. I will at that point go 2-3 hours inbetween a vape because it's so nasty i'm just trying to get through the shift to get home to some different juice and to give every atty I used that juice in an alcohol bath.

I should also mention that the extra 306 I keep at minimum on me at work, has the cover on it and it's sealed inside a thick, roughly 2" square plastic bag. It's gotta be the bottle getting contaminated. And to Buggs, most of it was in it's original bottle, but I know for sure the CCHB was in a different bottle because I had ordered a 120mL and poured the last 15mL or so into a new bottle and like I said I can't even remember what else it's happened to.

I could see maybe some lint getting into your atty, but I think it would be next to impossible for it to get into your liquid with both the drip cap and lid on.

Then that sounds systemic. It's most likely you, not the juice nor the equipment.

I've not had this burnt taste you are talking about, but every few months I get one that tastes like vomit.

It's definitely not me. It's not a random subtle taste I get from time to time. It's a taste so foul and nasty that I would go hours without nicotine because of how bad it is. I've had eliquid start to taste funky before. This is NOT that, this is something seriously wrong, that even gives me a weird, metallic almost taste and gives me a headache if I vape it much. If nobody has experienced anything similar, fine, lucky you. But for the last time, it's not just me loosing my taste for a juice. It's a foul, disgusting thing that tastes exactly the same every time it happens no matter what juice. I wish I could let somebody here try one of the juices with this taste, you would seriously not even believe it if you did, it's that horrible. The fact that it actually gives me these side effects and it even makes me feel like it's something seriously wrong and unhealthy, I CANNOT understate! It really gives me the feeling that it's not good for me at all when it happens, I just wish I knew what it was.

Actually, vomit is a good way to put it. It tastes like burnt vomit with a strong metallic taste. Something is definitely not right when it happens. Also, it's not just a burnt taste, that's just a small part of it, I just couldn't possibly describe it better than I just did. One time I screwed up, and cleaned the 2 atomizers that I had used one of these funky juices in and I put it back in them and the taste was there again. I cleaned them out and I still use all of them(except for the couple cartos I had these juices in, they were completely ruined).
