A week and a half ago, I received my brandy new pink EM-RiVa and as promised, I will now review this little gadget. :D

Simply put, this is a GREAT PV for me. Having started out my vaping career with an NPro, this was such a vast improvement I was in love at first puff. :vapor:

As far as vapor is concerned, I do not know how a different unit could produce any MORE vapor than the RiVa. Clouds and clouds of voluminous fog waft from it as I happily vape away. For an ultra-light smoker like me, the throat hit seemed a tad heavy at first but after getting past the learning curve of a day or two it seems just right now. :w00t:

I use the empty cartridges that came with my RiVa and have found those very easy to fill with my favorite juices.

The battery life is EXCELLENT. Once charged, I get a full day of vaping out of the RiVa, and since the kit I bought came with two batteries, I am never sitting around waiting for one to charge. The battery is a 3.7V, 750 Mah. I love the manual button as well...lights up bright blue when depressed and it really seems to be a battery saver! :)

I will say that whatever type of fluid they use in their atomizers for shipping purposes is VILE. :p While doing the first charge on the batteries (READ THE INSTRUCTIONS! It's not open and use!!), I soaked the atomizers in vodka for about 2 hours, gave them a good rinse with hot water, blew them out and let them dry completely. That way you will avoid that NASTY taste that might just turn a new user off from vaping entirely.

The one thing you may find confusing is the charging of the battery. Again, back to actually READING the instructions...after your first full charge each subsequent charge is about 3 hours. However, the led on the USB will turn green after 1-1.5 hours. That does not mean the battery is fully charged however....it's at a minimum charge. So make sure you let it go for the full 3 hours and don't take that green light as the gospel of charging!

I would highly recommend the Riva to any new vapers or even those who have a lot of experience with PV's. It's sleek and elegant looking, it produces tons of vapor, and it's easy to use. I couldn't ask for anything more!

thanks for the detailed review Nena. i've been a happy 510 user for about a year now (experimented briefly with a 901) and i'm just a bit tired of using standard batteries. became a fan of the passthrough. obviously, that limits one's range. LOL. which leads me to the recent past. do i go with the Riva or the Ego? i love the 510 so i figured i'd go with either of those models because they both use the 510 atty.
after watching you tube reviews and reading others on ECF, i think that i'm gonna roll with the Riva. reviews like yours are a big help for those of us who aren't newbies but love to get detailed information from other users. thanks again and happy vaping!

You are welcome! The only issue I've had with the Riva so far is I dropped one of the bats and apparently broke something inside of it. TOTALLY MY FAULT! But I will handle my bats with more care from now on....I'm sure it could happen to any bats if dropped on a really hard surface. I ordered a new battery and in the meantime I swipe my hubby's extra battery so I can still vape non stop! :D

I did notice that ecigsupply is out of stock on the KITS right now, so these things seem to really be catching on. I've got to assume that's because of the excellent battery performance! Can you tell I'm hooked?

I ordered my EM-Riva from Alvin E-Cig in Texas. $49.99 delivered.

Chris is Awesome. I placed an order for a pink Riva at 2:45pm, got the shipping confirmation at 3:09pm. Definitely a happy camper. Hoping nhaler will take back this 808 and exchage for a white Riva and then I will be all set. Wow that will be 3 devices in a metter of a week. Somebody take my credit cards please... Thanks for the Alvin ecig suggestion!

i feel like such a traitor... LOL. after all of my research and deliberating, i ended up buying a Joye eGo. mostly because i got a great deal from Taras at electronic-ash.com, but partially because i am a lover of my joye 510. i figured that i've had such good luck with my 510 that i would stay with Joye. my final thought... i would have been extremely happy with a Riva (mostly because of the opinions and thorough reviews posted here and partially from the reviews and opinions from Taras who sells both). one thing is certain... my small battery days are OVER!!!
THANKS AGAIN TO NENA AND EVERYONE!!!!

I'm the proud owner of 3 Janty Ego's which I use with LR atomizers but I've been considering a Riva also. I'm kind of hooked on the LR aromizers though as I seem to get a much better throat hit with them. When shopping online for the Riva I saw a note that said don't use LR atomizers with the Riva. What's that all about? How would the Riva vape volume and throat hit without LR atomizers compare with Janty Ego with LR atomizers. BTW, I love this forum and thanks to all who contribute.

hi guys I order some premium cartomizers from vapor 4life to use with my LS but I do not have the LS no more. Can I use these with the riva, I just ordered the riva today from eastmall. what are the best attys to use with the RIVA, LR306, LR510, cartomizers, dripp. etc...? thank you very much for your help

Hi Futbol,

I'm too new to know what mixes with what but I have a question about the LS. I think that will be my September present to myself. What did you think of the Little sister?

If it's not too late, I would recommend you add a 5 pack of Eastmall LR510 ($15) and a 3 pack of their 510/901 Metal Drip Tips ($4.50). Not only does it help to offset some of the shipping charges, but their both inexpensive and well built. I've used the LR510 atomizers for my Riva and Ego from a couple of other suppliers and ended up stockpiling on the Eastmall ones. So far I've accumulated 50 of their LR atomizers expecting them to last only about 2 weeks on average, but these lil suckers just won't die! After about a month when there's a noticeable drop in vapor, I'll just kick it over to a "little sister variable" set it on 4 - 5 volts and their good as new. I haven't tried cartomizers on the Ego/Riva, only the LS. So for an additional 20 bucks (actually $19.50) you can't go wrong...that's only if it's not too late!...lol

I've used eGo and Riva with LR attys exclusively. I found pretty much no difference in performance, I'm satisfied with the throat hit on both but the Riva button is a lot better than the eGo, thats the only reason I switched to only using Riva batts. That's the second time I've read something about not using LR attys with Rivas but I've had no issues, other than I can't get an LR to last more than a week..but that was the same on ego batts. My LRs never pop or anything they just start performing very weak, have to take longer draws etc and I give in and stick on another $3 new atty and vape on

this sounds cool, I have tons of LR510's I've stopped using due to weak performance on a riva, I should look into a variable volt mod to extend the life of those semi-abandoned attys
