Smoking. Cigarette smoke is by far the most common cause of emphysema. There are more than 4,000 chemicals in tobacco smoke, including secondhand smoke. These chemical irritants slowly destroy the small peripheral airways, the elastic air sacs and their supporting elastic fibers.

but are not the things that make for a throat hit really irritants and are not cinnamon and clove irritants also?

and at 68 and smoked for 50 years am i not already set up to get lung cancer if i am going to get it whether i stop smoking or not?

right now i am trying Stonewall Spitless tobacco because getting just nicotine through ecigs is just not working for me, but i am using 0mg ecigs for oral satisfaction

Many do what you are doing---snus & vape.
Of course the million dollar question is, "Is the ecig safe?" No one knows but I CERTAINLY FEEL BETTER, and that is sooo great since I was diagnosed with COPD before making the switch.
So if I'm now destined to get cancer after smoking for around 40 years then at least, in the in between years, I'm off Advair, my inhaler, my sinuses don't act up every time I turn around, and I don't cough the way I use too.

By the way, my doctor thinks my lungs sound great.
