This is gonna be quite a ways off topic, but I'm gonna rant a bit. Congrats to all who have taken the vapour journey, but, here goes:

It's not easy to spread the love sometimes. People who want to switch from analogs to e-cigs are often so hung up with the cost of that initial purchase of an e-cig kit. What's 200+ ringgit in e-cig equipment when they are spending 300 or more a month on analogs? Still, they are thinking of the cost of e-cigs. Anyone whom I talk to about e-cigs, and they can't accept the cost of 100+ to 200+ in e-cig equipment, I basically give up on.

Bottom line, they keep thinking that they are going to pay this money and are afraid that it will not work for them, end up they pay for nothing. If you go into the switch to vaping with that kind of thinking, you're basically thinking that you're gonna fail in your effort to switch. That's what the chinese call "losing the battle before it's fought". If you want to stop burning tobacco sticks, and you go into vaping with a negative attitude (it may not work), I can assure you, it may not work for you in the end. If you go into it with a positive attitude (this is a healthy alternative, just need to adjust a bit to it), then your chances of succeeding is improved 10 fold.

For newbies out there....it doesn't really matter how much the cost of the e-cig and accessories are going to be. If you REALLY WANT to replace analogs with a much much healthier alternative, e-cigs are the easiest way that I've found, and I'm sure that many here on ECF will happily put their hands up to agree with me. For me, paying thousands of ringgit now to switch to vaping is better than paying thousands later for medical bills. I've spent lots of money on e-cigs and mods, let's not even count the consumables, and I've never regretted it. I want to see my son grow up, and I want to live long enough to do so. Aside from marrying my dear wife and having my son, finding financial stability, switching to vaping is the best thing that's ever happened to me.

Have I quit smoking? NO...I HAVE NOT.
Am I still smoking cigarettes? NO !!
Am I still smoking? YES, BUT SMOKING A HEALTHY ALTERNATIVE, E-CIGS.

I AM AN E-SMOKER, AND PROUD OF IT.

Good luck to all with your vaping journey.

This is the problem all resellers faced. there 3 types of people rejecting e-cig,

1) aged people, lots of money, but they rather die of smoking rather than using e-cig.
Their reject are due to lack of understanding what is e-cig, and don't want to learn about it.
The case of mafig so happy with his e-cig is very rare to all i have seen of the similar age smokers.

2) Young working people with tight budget / over spending, thinking e-cig is just good to have, not must to have. and they have lots more important things to spend. they rather spend all their hard work money on handphones, car, girl friend, night life, lap tops, etc.

3) Non-smokers espeacilly wife, will discourage their husband from using e-cig, complain expensive, "smoke/vape are all bad, quit all is best way!"

Jack, your case of starting with cheap e-cig to advance mods are also rare case. many drop e-cig even after using 510.

KUL, MY
I started with something along the line of the health e-cig with a pcc. but I still take analog at that time. then went to the eGo kit and never looked back at analogs. after awhile I really wanted to explore the realm of higher voltage so upgrades came along one after another. Now I'm happy with my evercool and the only thing I wanted to try out next is a genisis which is going to be ready in a couple of days. :thumb: just some experience to share with you guys.

Oh and I understand what you went through Jack. My best friend started e-cig right along the same time as me but he ended up with analogs still and only use his e-cig indoors. Trying to poison him with VV and I think theres light at the end of the tunnel:toast:

Nah....I was just ranting coz I had about 4 people approach me yesterday to ask me about my mods and e-cigs in general and all of them basically looked at the cost of purchasing a basic 510 or Ego style kit as too expensive. Add to this the fact that all of these people are actually spending RM300 to 600 a month on smoking analogs. I would love to help them switch to vaping, coz if they take the initiative to start asking about e-cigs, they do have some mind to stop smoking cigarettes.

But...and it's a big BUT....their thinking is too limited in the sense that they keep thinking that "I'm gonna give this a try...but will it work?". What they should be doing is "I'm gonna give this a try...and I'll make it work".

Just my 2 cents. I've stopped my ranting now.

yes,all of us..have good points regarding e-cig & usage...now top branded cigarettes cost 10 RM per pkt but there are contrabands selling for less than 30 RM per carton..freely sold in shops and pasar malam..so not surprisingly smoking is a lot easily to buy and use, than e-cig

e-cig to me like everyone of us who used to smoke...its our health that matters and not so "how much saving from using e-cig"..$$ worth spending even I blindly buying my 1st kit for 140RM(kit + 4 pkts of prefilled catridges)..like some of U,i tried to weaned away from cigarettes be4...but none worked until i found my saviour..my 510T & took a while be4 i gave up on analogs..i am so grateful to ECF and members(jack, alvin in malaysia forum)/veterans/moderators giving good advises and support, i needed that..now happily vaping and spreading the wisdom of e-cig to smokers to convert when ever i can..regards mafig ps check this site out,e-liquids by the kg..only if i vape like alvin & jack i need it..LoL:p

i'm just an average vaper 1 to 2ml / day like many others. only at rare occasion I keep vaping, refills after refills till my 1000mah battery flat. Because afraid will happen again, I have to upgrade to 18650 3000mah mod.

Heavy vapers are vaping 5ml and above everyday like Jack or raceengine. 100ml to 200ml / month.

Just wanna share that my shipment of 8 sets of BV900, a liter of liquid, and a few accessories have safely made it to my house last week. Took only two days to ship from Shenzen and wasn't caught up by the customs. Thus I have saved on excise which was last time 30%. Bad news is that I didn't get to try out the HS code that the customs hotline provided me which would have been 10% sales tax and zero import tax, since the package wasn't held up by customs.

For those who thinks resellers are too expensive, you can start trying to order straight from China. In my case, I'm supporting 3 vapers thus I can't afford the prices from our local resellers. I'm not saying that we should avoid resellers (as I still support our local resellers) but after all, everything comes down to economical sense...

Jack: Beautifully said. if you think that it might work, the chances that it will increases by 10 fold...

Oh yeah, talking about spreading the love. I have converted 4 person just with my last shipment! An achievement for me after preaching for more than half a year...
