Hi everyone, I'm new to all this and haven't even got my first e-cig yet but was wondering if switching from tobacco to vaping will improve my energy levels. I've had a couple of heart attacks and really need to get more exercise but I smoke so much that I just can't handle it. Tried snus which did improve things energy wise but never liked them enough to quit smoking. My concern is that I may get off the cigarettes but still not have sufficient lung power for serious treadmilling. Any words of experience would be welcome. Thanks!

Well your lung power will return. Maybe not to 100% but there should be a major improvement.
I had a bought of COPD about once a year before I made the switch---I would have had more if it weren't for Advair and an inhaler. Off both now and can actually swim about three-fourths of a pool on one breath.
I also have high blood pressure. It went down so the amount of meds I take went down too.
Since you have had a couple heart attacks, I'd keep in close contact with your heart doctor.

Welcome to the forums.

I'm relatively new as well, but I quit analogs about 6 weeks ago, and I certainly have noticed the improvement. I run a little bit--which is, I know, ironic considering I smoked, and I can certainly tell the difference.

Given your medical history, I think it is absolutely essential for you to work out an exercise plan with your physician.

I think the main thing you need to consider when you exercise is staying with it for long enough so that you can actually experience the improvements. You'll need at least three weeks for your body to adapt (grow stronger) to the stress you are putting on via exercise.

And please forgive the cliche, but find something that you like, or can at least find some enjoyment in. Walking, treadmill, biking, spinning, dance, water dance--whatever. It would be great if you could combine a couple.
