hi all today i started my first day with E cig.
i did smoke normal cig (6 today so far instate of 40 ,hahaha so it is a good step
i want to know how E cig can be better than Normal ones ??
will my health will improve when i switch from normal cig to E ones ?? for example when you stop smoking
( After you quit smoking, a lot of good things happen to your body very quickly. Within just 20 minutes, your heart rate and blood pressure go down. Within 12 hours, the carbon monoxide levels in your body go back to normal. And within a couple of weeks, your circulation improves and you’re not coughing or wheezing as often.)

how about when i switch to E cig ??
thanks a lot

I too started vaping to quit tobacco, and after a year I can tell you a few pros and con, with the pros heavily outweighing the cons.

Pros:
- Don't smell like cigarettes all the time
- No more smokers cough/can breathe easier
- No filling my lungs with deadly chemicals
- Spending less money
- Tastes much better than cigarettes
- Can do it pretty much anywhere

Cons:
- vaping constantly to fulfill nicotine need
- Does not make you want to quit nicotine

So its a great way to get healthier without quitting a nicotine addiction, and nicotine only affects your health negatively when it comes to fertility, and even then its only a rare case.

Good luck in quitting tobacco, and happy vaping!

Just good reading. This link goes to PBusardo's references page.

Hmmm. I tried to connect elsewhere...Lets try the home page. There is a lot under the Blogs...that may be why.

Nope, even the Home Page doesn't seem to work. (sorry) The site is ecigarettereviewed DOT com. It is a good site for learning.

always glad to read

As far as we know, you will get most of the benefits of quitting smoking just by switching to e-cigs.
No real studies have been done yet, but most vapers including me will tell you that health benefits are already noticeable
within first few days of switching.
However, few things to keep in mind. If you still smoke few cigarettes a day, you will not notice the benefits so drastically. And e-cigarettes have their own challenges that are usually fairly easy to work out.
For instance one that really bugged me. You might notice a soar throat. Many attribute it to withdraw. But to me it appeared that it was caused by nasal drip that irritated my throat at night. Nasal drip was probably caused by the ability of my sinuses and lungs to finally be able to clean them selves and over-reacted to the benefit. The vapor from e-cigs going into my nasal cavity probably was a culprit as well, but I don't think vapor was the main cause because I had identical symptoms while I quit few years back without e-cigs, Those symptoms will go away in 2 weeks.

Main benefit for me of e-cigs over quitting outright was that I did not gain any weight. Actually I started taking better care of my self and lost 25lbs.
In the past my attempts failed because I gained weight. That was the deal breaker.

As for blood pressure, I think that is caused by nicotine. But to be different, my average Blood pressure dropped from 125/80 to 105/65. Probably due to the weight loss tho.

The one problem I've had for years that cigarettes caused, that vaping doesn't seem to help, is what my husband and I call "popsicle paws" -- cold hands and feet. It might not be quite as bad as when I smoked, probably thanks to no more carbon monoxide, but I guess the problem is actually from nicotine constriction of capillaries, and I guess I still have that.

Might be the first really good reason I've found for eventually reducing my nicotine level.

Well I havent had a cigarette in a year and 6 months. Since vaping I dont have a smokers cough anymore. My friends and relatives dont complain about me smelling. In the 2 doctors visits I had since my blood pressure is lower. I too vape constantly but smoked cigarettes like crazy too. I just like the censation of having smoke or vape in my mouth and lungs. Dont plan on quitting vaping any time soon if ever. To me it is just a friendly and safer way to smoke!
