Oh boy, I am now getting too much nicotine!

I never had this problem with premade juices because they were not this good. I am now going to make some lower nicotine juices so I can enjoy them while I am home. I can use the higher nic when I am working and have to wait for breaks to vape.

I normally use 18mg and 24mg. The 18mg doesn't quite do it and the 24mg a bit much for all the time. I usually switch between the two so I did these mixes at 21mg thinking this might be a better place to start. I've never had juices this good so I am wanting to vape more for taste instead of nicotine. (Is this a bad thing?)

I'm not sure how much lower I should go. What do you guys think? 15mg? 12mg? I'm sure I will eventually get the right mix for the right time but right now my head hurts so I'm not sure I am thinking clearly!

Any advice?

Thanks for the replies!
I think I am going to do some 0mg for awhile until my headache goes away anyway. Then maybe see how 12mg does.

Danny, I am not worried about health risk, I can just tell from listening to my body I am getting too much. I don't like this feeling.
I did chain vape when I first started too trying to get away from analogs but have since not vaped as much. (Probably because I didn't have a juice I really liked) I am back to chain vaping due to liking the new juices so much and didn't think about the effect on my body.

Lesson learned and as usual the hard way! LOL
Thanks for your input!

I had that issue at 22 mg/ml and chain vaping, but I was quitting the cigarettes at the time. Somehow I still managed to occasionally want a cigarette through the headache, nausea, and blurred vision from the nicotine overdose.

Fortunately, with DIY you can play with your nic levels to your heart's content. Maybe have 12 mg on-hand for chain vaping, and a higher nic level for when you get a sudden craving? You might need to go to 18 for chain vaping, or even down to 8.

These days, my all-day vape is 6 mg/ml and that works for me, but it took some time to adjust down to that.

This is the beauty of DIY.
My headache is better and I learn fast so I don't think that will happen again. LOL

I mixed 2 small batches... one with 0 nic and one with 10mg. I started out on the 0 nic and the headache soon went away. I stayed on that for a couple of hours and am now on the 10mg. I am going to see how I do with this and for how long. I still have the 21mg which I will take to work tomorrow or switch back to if needed BUT I will watch the chain vaping if I go back to it.

I think my next mixes will be 18mg which wasn't quite enough with premade juices but I think that might be better for me now. We shall see.

when I started DIY about a month ago, I was chain vaping like mad ... I felt like a kid in a candy store ... things have mellowed out somewhat as the novelty wears off ... I am now sitting on 100s of mls of good vapeable juice ... I even have several concentrates I haven't even worked with yet.

Tell me about it. I just batched 500 ml of my standard liquid, in addition to the 370 ml I still had in other bottles. I'm set for quite some time!

Sounds like mixing is as fun as vaping for you guys. Believe me, I understand.

I had a a couple of headaches when I started vaping. But the thing that got me to cut my nic level down was how stimulated I was a few times. I like caffeine also, and between the two I was a real chatter box there for a while. I'm still not sure I like vaping solely (if at all) for the nic. I never could have imagined how much a good flavor attracts me to the activity. The great part about that is analogs have lost ALL their appeal.

In my experience, it's easier to cut your nicotine more drastically than you'd think.

I went from 18 mg/ml straight
down to 6 mg/ml with pretty much no effects at all.

My personal opinion is that once you're over the withdrawal from all the other chemicals in analog cigarettes, the nicotine isn't as big of a deal as we'd like to think.

Again, just my experience.

These last 2 posts are interesting and something to think about.

My first week back in Sept. I started with 18mg. I did ok but not knowing anything about nicotine I decided to try 12mg and see how that did. Day one was ok but day 2 it hit me and hit hard. I literally felt ill and went back to 18mg. After several weeks I was having a harder time and got some 24mg. I have since then been switching from 18mg to 24mg as needed.

When I made my first batches I decided to try 21mg and see how that worked for me. What I didn't realize is the flavors are so much better than anything I have bought premade, I want to vape more. I am going to make my next batches at 18mg and then the following will probably be 16mg.

The problem is, at home I can vape non-stop but at work I can't and have to wait for breaks. There is definitely going to be a learning curve here trying to figure out what mg is going to work best for me. I may have to have some for home use and some for work use.

Thanks for sharing your experiences and giving me more to think about! Happy Holidays to all!

For an experiment I would make the same flavor in both 12 and 24mg strength. The 24 for work and the 12 for home. At home if the 12 isn't enough you can always mix equal parts of the 12 and 24 strength to up it to 18. :toast:

Happy Holidays,
Steve

Excellent idea!

For now I have mixed a much lower batch to mix with the 21mg of my 2 favorites and brought the mg down to around 13/14. Since I will be home the next 2 days that should work better. The other 21mg I plan to take to work but I may end up cutting those as well. It is so nice to be able to make these changes as needed! I am a happy DIY'er!

I dropped down to 6mg when I started dripping. Man I would get my heart racing and a little queasy. now I do almost exclusively 6 mg. I will mix up some 12 or close to it for work when I vape on breaks. I also think the dropping of nic was way easier after vaping a few months. Every now and then I will feel the urge to get some nic in my system, or at least I think that's it, it could be I need a burrito or something.

My main problems are racing heart and insomnia. Actually, I'm not sure it qualifies as insomnia because I could sleep if I took my night time pills, I just don't want to, so I stay up for 2 or 3 days and then crash.

Actually, it qualifies as insomnia because you have to take night time pills. LOL
