Hello Everyone!
This is my first post, but I have been reading along for awhile now. I looked at the calendar last night and realized, as of today, I have been smoke free for 4 weeks!!! Time to finally register and say hello!
I was a closet 1pk/day smoker for the last 6+ years. I hate even admitting that, which is a good indication of how closeted I was. I wasn't fooling anyone other than myself while I was miserably cowering in my garage freezing or roasting in shame and stench to get my fix. Not pretty, huh. My husband was my partner in crime, but it's not his fault that I started, or that I didn't quit.
At any rate, we'd wrecked our longest (~6 month) quit and I was miserable at the prospect of having to start all over. What began as splitting a pack to get through a stressful day drifted right back to where we were before, and the difficulty breathing, painful sinuses, cough, and stench we tracked into the house were all back too.
In another corner of the internet I heard about the eGo-C's. Husband was skeptical, but I couldn't face gum, patches, climbing the walls, and gaining 10 more pounds. I ordered myself a kit. It showed up while I was out of town, and he cracked it open and gave it a try. He had his own on the way by the time I got back.
Over the course of these four weeks we've moved from eGo-C's with whistle tips to clearos and Twists. Our first Vivi Minis just arrived (they rock!!), and yesterday I ordered some of the new Phoenix Ravens to try out. I've tried all sorts of juices, some big hits (AVE Flue Cured, Chai, and Hype in particular) and some big misses. Taste is subjective though, so that's to be expected. May try my hand at some DIY before too long.
vaping is amazing. I don't feel like I have given up anything. Wait, that isn't true. I have given up shame, stench, 100's of cancer causing chemicals, tracking second hand smoke into the house where my kids and pets live, throwing money at big tobacco, yellowing teeth, and declining health. I traded those in for a harm reducing hobby that gives me the tools I need to stay away from analogs, the fun of buying gear and testing out flavors, and the support and information from the community here.
This is a great forum. Thanks so much to all of you for all the helpful, encouraging, knowledgeable posts you all make here every day, and to the vendors for their great products and care for their customers. You've been a great help to me and my family.
