Erlk Nano troubles

I recently got a nano kit for my Erlk and after studiously messing with it, I had to go back to the regular chimney and glass kit.

My problems are mostly dry and/or burnt hits in the nano. Cotton looks good when I break back down. I'm guessing the tank just needs the pressure of a higher capacity volume to work correctly? Anyone get their erlk nano working right? I like the idea of a stumpier tank on my trigger box, but in the case of the erlk, it doesn't appear to work right.

Coil is 1.5mm @ 1.9 ohms 30g kanthal. Wicks are angle cut so they get thicker to the top.

It takes 30 seconds to wick my full-size erlk and make it sing, but the nano won't work with the exact same setup that previously worked in the full-size tank.

What's the secret?

I'm not sure. That's a pretty small diameter coil, but if it worked in the full size, it should work in the nano.

I still don't have a nano kit for my authentic, but when I changed my clone to nano, it was no different. I use a 2.4mm coil.

I don't understand what you are saying. You don't have an authentic nano kit, and you don't have an authentic erlk? You have a clone nano erlk and it works 'fine'? Hrm...

Edit: ohms and wraps please on your 2.4mm. less than 6 wraps? I have a lot of questions now, but would enjoy your explanation. You do have experience with the tank we are talking about?

Not sure how you came to that conclusion. I couldn't be happier at 1/8" (3.2mm, single-coil Lemo 1 and 2).... I can't imagine how hot your little 1.5mm coil must get.... no wonder it burns your wicks.

I'm going to agree with the coil's internal diameter being on the small side and possibly contributing to the burning. I don't think the nano kit is the issue, but if the nano kit isn't making a proper seal and you're getting a poor vacuum that could be it too.

I don't think a larger coil is suboptimal in a vacuum fed tank. The coils don't need to be large and sometimes the build decks do not permit very large coils, but the tank feeding the coil and wick will be just as good as on a smaller coil. The vape may be different, but it will vape well.

I have not had a single issue with my Nano Erl kit. 2.5mm coil, 28g Kanthal, 10 wraps, 1.8ohms.

I have both an authentic and a clone. I haven't bought a nano kit yet for the authentic. I do use a nano kit for the clone.

At the moment I'm using titanium for temp control with the sx mini m class. But I used to use kanthal, 7 wraps of 28g on 2.4mm bit.

If I were to put it on a mech I would use 26 or 27g wire to lower resistance, but same size coil. I use that size coil in most of my RTAs, and on last count I had over 30 of them So a lot of success with that coil. A few I use 2mm coil, and a few I use 2.8 mm coil.

I've never used 1.5mm in an RTA.
