Just wondering the time frame when I should expect my GLV to be shipped? I am order #157. I know the site says a week to a month. Who else is waiting for their GLV and what order # are you? I was estimating around a month since I got mine laser etched also. Any updates or information would be appriciated. Hopefully mine will be the new stock that is a little shorter.

when i bought mine about 4 months ago it was in stock and took couple of weeks to get it. Not throwing Jay under bus, but expect 4 to 6 weeks. I could be wrong, but probably not. The product is good but not great in my opinion. I purchased 2, one 5 volt and 1 3.7 volt. I had problems with the soft threads and ended up combining the 2 to get one working 6 volt. And on this one I permanently soldered a 510 to 801 carto adapter to it and use it for cartos only. I know I could send it in to Jay to fix. After 2 unanswered emails I gave up and fixed it myself. This is just my experience with GLV. Wolud I buy another GLV product? No but you're experience will hopefully be better. Best of luck Dave

Hey Omaha, this won't answer your questions but is just another perspective on things, for the heck of it. I think the lack of activity on this sub-forum, and the communications situation in general, have become self-perpetuating circumstances. People originally notice it; decide whether to go forward anyway; then like it or not just don't expect any different in the future. Or, necessarily look for new threads often anymore, since whatever does get posted is often on the 'Updates' thread. Sometimes people will even receive their GLV and love it, but ironically this will be one place they don't get around to saying that lol, like maybe no one will be here to hear it and more bang can be had elsewhere. (Then also, if repairs or some such are needed, by then I think ppl have noticed that posting on this sub-forum wouldn't be an expedient way to get that ball rolling, or necessarily get discussion going with other owners, so they skip those and pursue direct contact.)

But I've been stopping by since I got my GLV in December (from immediately-available body-only stock, so no waiting), and have indeed seen evidence over time that none of the above does mean orders are not being placed and that a good number of folks are not awaiting a GLV at any given time. Less discussion is attempted before, during or after for reasons such as the above; and it seems Jay may get a lot of word-of-mouth biz too, customers that didn't originate from or ever stop by here; and blah blah blah, so on and so forth.

I agree it's kinda odd, and I'm not saying it's all ok or that there aren't problems sometimes. Not completely sure what I AM saying lol, I guess just that it may seem like you're alone in here but you're not. :) It would behoove Jay too if he is ultimately able to put the time into this sideline that he'd like and need to in order to go to the next level, since the GLV really is a unique device, and 5V mods in particular are still a pretty 'coveted' thing. I suspect he could probably go as far as he'd like with it.

Anyway. Good luck, hope you will find it to have all been worth it! Btw he has posted a number he can be reached at if necessary, in the Updates thread iirc.

Thanks for the info and replying to my post. Im just used to other companys forums being very very active. Just got me worried that I already gave him $130 and waiting for my GLV to get here. Im glad to see that people to come and look at the posts in this forum. I was on the verge of cancelling my order and getting a refund if I didnt hear from anyone on here. I wonder why no one ever posts on here that has a GLV? I will keep posting on here with any updates I get from Jay.

When you say soft threads are you talking about the issues that one of my PV's listed in my signature has? If you know what I mean. I bought this to get away from issues with threads. Its sort of sad to say but I use my home made 5V box mod the most out of anything I have. Cost me like $25 to make it but I really love the design of the GLV so I bought one as a birthday present to myself. Which is tomorrow 4/12.

I just wanted to jump in again to say that the GLV design has been tweaked several times in little (and by now pretty big) ways since several months ago, so a direct comparison between an 'older' unit and your forthcoming new one may not be possible/useful, and may serve more to 'deflate' you unnecessarily than anything else. I'm sure some of the tweaks have been in exact reference to historic issues raised. But if you read some of the older threads in here (well, they all pretty much are, lol) you'll come across the soft thread references and other bugs reported over time. Before I got mine I read everything in here actually, since it wasn't that much really. In so doing I also came to realize in advance that there wasn't much activity here and no immediate reason to expect that to change, should I have wanted to let that be part of my decision.

It may also help draw more ppl into discussion if you post on/bump the Updates thread or any you find where something of direct interest was discussed; many ppl may still be subscribed to those, who don't necessarily check the rest of this sub often anymore. (Again, all kinda odd I know; gave my 'fwiw' theories previously on possible factors. :p For instance, if you got yours tomorrow, really liked it and had no problem with it... do you think you'd keep coming back here anyway, having seen what you have, or should I say haven't, re activity here? See what I mean? ;))

Thanks for the help Miss. The real changes start tomorrow as far as how active I am on the forums , I will have a lot more time for emails ,and PM's and such because Im done with school until the fall. I will be on line a lot more to answer questions and try to make this a more active sub-forum for people.

Just got an update from Jay. He said my GLV should be shipping in about a week or so. Im glad to hear Jay can be more active in the forum now. Cant wait to try my GLV out and compare it to my other mods I own. If I love it as much as I think I will then I will be selling off a few of the mods that are in my signature.
