These two products work in almost the same way. They are used to smooth out and thicken a vape. EM has the added effect of bringing out the sweetness in an already sweet vape. EM will not in itself sweeten a vape as many think it just enhances sweetness found in other flavorings.

Smooth on the other hand is better used in tobacco mixes to blend together several tobacco flavors. Where one tobacco flavor will be dominent over another smooth helps to tame that flavor to better meld it in with the other tobacco flavors.

They both will help in adding body and thickness.

So to summerize

use EM to enhance the sweetness of already sweet flavors and add body and thickness

Use smooth to blend tobaccos and add body and thickness.

Also note that adding EM to tobacco may also bring out trace amounts of sweetness in a tobacco which in some cases may not be desirable, But in other cases it may be desirable such as in RY4's.

Start both at 1%, steep and add more if nessessary. Usually it's not nessessary to go above 2%.

Noob Question:
When preparing EM, I am prepping it in VG (is that ok?) And...
I can't seem to get the crystals to completely dissolve right away is this expected

Thanks for any help on this
Yes. PG may dissolve quicker.

Yes this is typical, that's why a lot of folks buy TFA EM premixed at 10%/PG. ----No crystal issues to contend with.
