I personally use the Cotton Candy flavor instead.
From what I've read, it's basically Ethyl Maltol already liquid.

Depending on the flavors I'm using and how sweet I want it, it's around 5 to 10 percent.
10 being, for instance, with lemon lime, but I'm after a kool-ade sweet.

I like sweet, others may not like their flavors as sweet as I do.

Ethyl Maltol takes some playing with to get your personal taste right, just like anything else.

I use it alot with tobaccos. In the 1-2% range youll find that it doesnt really add much sweetness. Rather it helps to smooth out and blend flavors together. Reducing the sharp overtones and helping to blend them more with any undertones. Btw, imo it helps eliminate some of the steeping time on tobaccos because normally we would wait for those harsher overtones to calm down on their own over time and blend in. Thats my take on it.

As an overall sweetner I have yet to use it past the 5% mark and it doesnt sweeten as well as sucralose.

The same way you would wirh any other flavoring or additive. It becomes a percentage of the whole. If you mean how you mix the crystals, I mix 1/4 teaspoon EM per 10 ml of PG.

I am new to DIY and luckily bought Cotton Candy flavoring because I like Cotton Candy flavored e-liquid. I, too, like tobacco flavors and use my Cotton Candy in it everytime and I agree with you about its natural ability to help smooth and blend tobacco flavors.
One of my best DIY e-liquids, so far, is Vanilla Bean Ice cream Cotton candy but you've got to like sweet. I used what I consider to be a high per cent of Ethyl Maltose- 4%. I like to remember it is like salt, in a way, it's easier to add than to take out! ;)

Yeah, I was wondering how to mix the crystals. I ended up mixing 1/2 tsp. with 10ml. I added .5ml to my 15ml of juice. I'm not sure if it sweetened anything but it tastes good! Maybe it just smoothed out the flavors

Exactly what I do, one difference is I get the PG heated in hot water before adding the crystals , then shake well and back into the hot water bath (not too hot or boiling but hot enough to aid in dissolving them)

So the Ethyl Maltol re-crystalized in the glass bottle I mixed it in w/the PG. If it re-crystalizes, won't it ruin my juices that I have used it with?

Since you used 1/2tsp in 10ml some EM crystals may reform as you may be slightly over the maximum saturation for EM in PG. Just add an equal amount of PG to however much EM solution you have left & that'll bring it down to about 1/4tsp in 10ml. This is approx a 10% EM concentration ( a lil more methinks ~12%) which should stay well without any re-crystallization in cool conditions.

As for your juices.....YES! They're ruined! quick! send 'em to me! :p

lol no seriously they'll be ok. The EM is already good & diluted in the total juice volume (only ~1.3% actual EM in juice by your amounts) so nowhere near saturation :)

Thanks for the help!
Oops....I just reheated the bottle to dissolve the crystals again...
I have a TON of EM crystals left. Ok so next time I do this I should heat up 10ml and and 1/4tsp? And not re-microwave?

I haven't noticed much from the EM when adding to juices. I'm only using 2-3% but then again I love my juices strong so I usually add 20-25% at least.

Oh, I try to stay away from anything plastic! All my juices are in bottles. The flavors are still in plastic for now, until I can afford more bottles.

I add so much flavoring to my juices! I start slow...let them steep....then add....then repeat. I just really really like strong flavors.
I just added 5% EM to a Peanut Butter Apple ejuice. It will probably be yum yum yum.

Yep Yep....10ml to 1/4 tsp sounds perfect :)
At that concentration 6 secs in the micro & POOF! All EM crystals disappear never to be seen again! Maybe a 2nd nuke if there r any stragglers but I've never had to.
I use glass bottles though. If you're using plastics I'm with Jim Bob on the warm water bath ( I said ON not IN :D). Nothing says quality juice quite like leeched plastic cotton candy flavor lol.

Like I said just check how much "Keekers' Super EM Solution" you have left and add that much more of PG to bring it to the same concentration us mere mortals use :)

EM's pretty subtle to me too though some seem to taste it even in the 2%-5% range I usually use it in. And I use it in....well....everything! Fruity, tobaccoey, desserty, everything benefits from EM.
I use it mainly to give body, mouth-feel & to smooth 'n blend flavors better.

As for sweetness, if at 5% EM it ain't sweet enough, then that thar juice needs some sweet, sweet sucralose.
Sucralose........mmmmmmmmm:drool:

PS. In case you haven't, check out Hoosier's blog http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...diy-mixing-staples-misc-blending-flavors.html

PPS. Just saw your no plastic post. Kindly disregard all previous mentions of Demons, Bobs & warm water baths........lol
