I was wondering if CASAA has thought of using a "round-up" fundraising campaign, where you work with retailers to offer customers the option of rounding up their purchases to the next dollar as a donation to CASAA? If your order totals $50.83 and you opt-in, you would pay $51.00, if your order totals $30.21 and you opt-in, you would pay $31.00, and the $0.17 and $0.79 would be collected and given to CASAA as a donation. Other organizations have found these types of programs to be highly successful. Individual donations are small (averaging $0.50, and never more than $1.00), but this helps encourage high customer participation, and a lot of small donations can quickly add up. The NRA receives almost $1.2 million a year* from its round-up program with MidwayUSA (one of the nation's largest shooting / hunting / outdoors retailers). And these programs don't cost retailers anything except the small amount of overhead to collect the donations and forward the total to CASAA each month. For online retailers, offering customers the option to round up their purchases (via a checkbox on the checkout page) is easy to implement and manage with most e-commerce platforms. * Based on the April 2014 announcement of the program reaching nearly $10 million, and the $12.9 million current listed total.
