Considering everything that is going on, which we users are mostly oblivious to, I'm frankly amazed that things don't go wrong more often.

Unless you're crunching number for SETI, or some such, the VAST majority of your computer's time is spend YAWNING, waiting for input from you.

Yeah, it is irritating when things go wrong. Overtaxing the system is my main root of evil. visiting hazardous sites will get you too. NEVER surf for porn, if that's your bag pay the $$$ for a legit site. I don't mean to suggest you've been doing that, but the topic harbors some of the net's greatest threats.

I successfully sidestepped Vista, and haven't gone to 7 yet. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Use a firewall and practice safe surfing.

Oh, and no, I never had the fantasy of smashing my computer. My dangerously psychoic ex-wife smashed my Commodore 64 several times though. It really ...... her off when I repaired it after her first attempt at destruction.

I am a GUY from L.A. not girl. lol
Your computer is not guilty you're running the wrong OS :)

(quit after 1000 hits, is there an end of game?)

My new Acer is awesome! My old dell is a POS. The Dell has a faster duo core processor, yet runs slower than my Acer BY FAR. Could be the Win7 OS on the Acer vs. Vista on the dell. But I just think that Dell is a POS. I'm gonna try and run Linux on it once I get a new keyboard or try and fix the one that's in it. But I LOVE Win7 64bit. I would never hurt my Acer. lol The dell I nearly tossed out the window when the keyboard broke, and then hard crashed.

LOL that was funny as hell. I have six computers in my house and I am far from a rich man. My wife and two kids and me a business one and a laptop for on the road, (plus a router than I'm sure someone steals access to) guess who's job it is to keep them all going? Although my wife does do some of the hardware upgrades my hands are just to damn big to fit in sometimes.

Linux is kinda cool but it's a pain to get going on. I hate vista I would rather run 98. I'll install 7 when they work the bugs out. I got so sick of taking apart keyboards that I bought of lot of 16 of them. Screw it their cheap. Kids plus glasses of milk and cats equals a lot of frustration.

The last set of keyboards I bought have this plastic under the keys that prevent liquid from going past it :) They were like 15 a piece I think.

I haven't had any problems w/ win7. Vista SUUUUUX! I hate vista, I would even rather run 95 than vista. lol There are some deals going on now where they are giving a linksys n router away w/ the purchase of a family edition Windows 7. Pretty good deal. If I didn't already have it I'd go for it. Maybe you can use the router to daisy chain your network.

out of all the os I've tried except win7, only like 98 and XP Pro(xp home sux) I did have a Vista home ed on a laptop.........>.< all I could think of beating my head on the wall with that OS, its as bad as WinMe. Now its sitting in the closest.........It took a beating from a toddler, along with a few other pc/laptops. When I get bored enough I'll see if I can salvage some parts may either A, rebuilt them or B. ???

Btw thank you for the pc bashing ROFL, granddaughter loves it.
