throw all of your vaping gear against a wall? No? I have.

Everything has been great for a few months and have not had too many problems, but the past 24 hours have annoyed me.
Won't bore you with the details but it involved a combination of:

Non-Vision Nova tanks (v2.5) with post and wicking issues x2.
Less than perfect threading on a new Lava Tube.
A nasty juice that kept appearing after some serious cleaning.
Bunk Boge cartos as a failed last resort.

Such is the nature of my addiction that I got ...... and instantly thought about smoking, it just seems to lurk there, waiting for me to lower my defenses.

I'm just gonna stick to what I know I like, been thinking more about that lately anyway. There are a handful of juices I like and I have have had good luck with Vivi Novas from Vision, and honestly I have never had a problem with my Twists.

All I can say is, stop wasting time on the cheap stuff that will cause you problems and start researching on stuff that's going to last you a long time, not have any problems with it and even if its a little more expensive who cares? Down the road it will pay itself off, rather than having a cheaper mod fizz out and to need to replace a new one. My motto is always look for things that're long term and will last you the longest time possible, throw those price numbers out the window, compare lifespan and maintenance cost. Just my 2 cents.

Man, I have those every other day. Even the expensive stuff I get (with the exception of my Provari) have failed me from time to time. The worse is when you've dumped 3.5ml of juice into something only to have it taste like metal with bits of silica fiber hitting your tongue because of a bad coil head or some connection issue. My first young June lavatube had a voltage regulation issue so that no matter how low I set the voltage it would hit (and pop an LR atty) as if it were set to 5V. Wanted to tear my hair out (few that I have left) after burning out every atty/tank setup I had not knowing that the LT was the problem.

For all those times (and it will happen again, because let's be honest, we're vapers and our community loves to spend tons of money chasing the next over-hyped, most unproven device out there), I make sure to keep a stock of 510 attys, drip tips, juice and a Provari. It may not be the most glorious or convenient setup out there, but it works each and every time and you need that to keep from going mad.

Good luck!

(I've also learned to stock up on cheap juices for testing, especially clearos and tanks, because you will waste juice some time or other)

I hear you Jett, but the biggest headaches I have encountered have been with delivery systems. Not too long ago I was thinking about a Provari, but I was still looking for a consistent tank. Up to this point I have really liked the Novas - the "real" ones made by Vision, then I got a couple more that came in a different box (white) and had slightly different heads and wicks. It's definitely a wick issue because they work fine when I drop some juice on the coil, but won't wick - even a 70/30 juice filled up and after a twirl. Lesson learned, more lessons to come I'm sure.

Been there, done that! In fact, I'm still missing three batteries as an aftermath to a very bad day

Keep some cheap backups for testing only. I use an ego atomizer type A with cartridges for testing juice. They are reusable but better yet, cheap enough to throw away and replace incase of nasty nasty juice. I also like options. Some days my provari just doesn't cut it and I reach for my old first love, my xl 808, for comfort.

I would say it's time for you to move to rebuildables, 3mm/3.5mm thick silica wicks, build them yourself, to your liking, to your own sense of quality control and eliminate all that stuff you're talking about. With the Young June mod you have to becareful because it doesn't use a straight DC signal, it uses pulse width modulation, Pbusardo has an intensive review on this and you can check it out on youtube. Currently I don't stock up on anything as there isn't a need to, just stock up on wicks and wires to rebuild my atty inside the Odysseus, everything else is made of stainless steel, this thing will never break, so that's all is needed to keep it going, I don't have to worry about stocking up on cartos or atty heads, or when will my atty head blow out. Just to give you an example, I've tested this and I've dry burnt my Odysseus to the point where the atty caught on fire, and guess what? Just blow it off and continue, any other factory made atty would've shorted out like I've experienced with 2 of my Vivi Nova atty heads when I tried dry burning them, they shorted out. I've even set it on fire multiple times in a row and it still works! That's how amazing it is, to be able to use the highest grade materials you can find and replacing them at a cost cheaper than buying any cartomizer or atty head.

I won't lie, when I first got my Odysseus and started building it, there were a few issues that needed to be sorted out, but once I got those sorted all the problems you've listed instantly disappeared, with the juice flow control on it I get to manage and control how fast juice is flowing into the wicks at my personal vaping power. Just an example for you, a Vivi Nova only uses 3 strands of very very thin wicks, not surprising as you'd want to maximize profits, with that said you can get silica wicks up to 9 times thicker than a Vivi Nova wick, I liked the Vivi Novas when I got them, and they do the trick in satisfying me, but like I said their wicks are very thin, and saying so, it only holds a certain amount of juice in the coil area and can only vape up to a certain power, any higher you will get dry hits/burnt taste. After switching over to the Odysseus I've never had that problem whatsoever and on top of that it delivers flavor, throat hit, vapor SO many times better a Vivi Nova does, and the best thing is I get to customize it with the highest grade materials available.

Jonny, we've all had days like this. I am always keep juice, atty's & cartos with me of the type that I know always work with me. They may not be the current, latest or greatest, but they always work. I've been off analogs over a year & I'm not going back, period. I always have a couple of drip tips & attys in the car & juice that I like & a couple of older stock Boge Cartos. I also have some carts that I can fill & use with my attys for driving. This is leftover stuff from earlier vapin' times. All have been replaced with newer, better stuff, but works in a pinch.

First thing that ECF taught me is to have backups for my backups. Sometimes tried & true beats the pants off of latest & greatest. Keep on vapin'

Well wouldn't you know that that is EXACTLY what I did. Bought a Penelope from Bruce at a vape meet over a month ago and it's done two things: given me one intense vape and satisfied my need to tinker. Also picked up a Phoenix just for tasting. Still, a small arsenal of good ol' 510 atties when I don't want to rebuild or my coils don't come out right is a must.

The LT is in storage for the (gasp) possibility that the Provari fails me. A Twist, too, for good measure.

Got an order of SS mesh to add a little spice to my Penelope wicks. Haven't played with it before and hoping the hybrid mesh/silica wick is as good as I think it will be in my head. If not then a 510 atty, drip tip, Provari and 30ml bottle of Papa Smurf will put me at ease :)

The problem here is, is that all of these products are basically in beta testing phase. There really hasn't been something made that consistently works no matter what. (aside from the provari but I won't mention because it's extremely overpriced)

Until there's an entire set up, meaning device and tank/carto/whatever it may be, that works like analog cigarettes do, we will all have hit and miss days. It's just the nature of the beast for now.

I've been here many times then I can think. I've wanted to move over from my Prodigy 3.1. It's been about 2 years since I've had it. The batteries were dying and I wanted to get an "upgraded" model. Instead of me jumping from what has been working for me since I've started I've just continued to use what I have. I don't have the patience in dealing with new stuff. I can't rely on what I don't know. I've been there many of times, and you'll get through it!
