Why would you want to cut down the wick?

I did it as I was told the wicking might be alittle better. I cut the wicks down on the 2.8 head and left em long on the 2.4 to check the difference. It did seem to wick just alittle better witht he short wicks tho. I have yet to get a dry hit with the short wick, tho I tip alot to keep em wet. The longer wick seems to have alittle more issue when i take longer draws. It isn't really a dry hit but it isn't the same as with the short wick. Hard to explain but the shorter wick does seem to do alittle better, for me anyways. Might be due to the PG/VG ratio or something of the like.

That's kind of weird. All I know is that the Vivi I ordered had the wick very damn tightly wrapped around the coils, probably giving them less absorption. I fixed this by putting in my own wick (a longer one) and putting in my own coils wrapped a little teensy bit more loosely around the wick. It is probably a contributing factor to better performance.

Would you describe your issue with a longer wick as a "cloud" problem? I mean: Is your issue one in which you weren't getting as much vapor out of a longer wick? Perhaps it wasn't absorbing well due to the overemphasis on tight wrapping.

I solved this issue by making new coils a little bit more loosely wrapped, but I still had to keep them tight enough to make contact and vape up the juice. I also get some pretty hot hits because of it, and I kind of like the warmth in my mouth when that happens.

Ya IDK how to really explain it, all i know is with the shorter wick it seems, imo, to be a better "vape experience". ATM I'm using a 60/40 PG/VG mix on a 2.8ohm @ 4.0-4.2v, was using a 70/30 before, and with the shorter wick it just overall "feels" better. Maybe it's the vap, the flav, or something else all I know is I likes it...:vapor:

I do want to try and rewick it myself sometime and have looked at a few videos but still not sure if it is something I can do or not. I'm sure down the road I'll give it a shot just to at least try it. I've heard alot of ppl say to use 100% cotton wicks and it gives a better, cleaner flavor.
