You know the ones I'm talking about, the ones when no matter what you do you can't get a satisfying vape from any of your gear with any of your juices.

I have only been off the analogs for about six weeks now, was a two pack a day smoker and started thirty years ago. My vaping journey has been extremely rewarding so far and didn't hit any snags until the last few days. Started with an Evod kit with an extra tank and some good juice (Boba's Bounty and Havana gold), then bought a Vamo V4 with some good batteries and a charger along with a Protank 3 and a couple Protank Mini 2s. Ended up with a EHPro EA Mod and a Scar RDA, learned how to build coils and use various wicks including cotton ball. Added a few new juices to the lineup and everything was good for a few weeks.

What happened next may be an experience many have had. I bought another clone mech mod, this time the much talked about Nemesis which has been disappointing for various reasons but mainly it just takes too much messing around with. Looks good, vapes well, just sort of a pain. Bought the AGI RDA and love it in dripper mode, haven't tried it in tank mode yet. Then I bought and just received the Trident close many suggest and honestly disappointed. Received the also highly sought after Aspire Nautilus the other day and still not thrilled with that (worked great for half a day, then got dry hits, burned hits, no flavor, etc. so switched to a new coil and working better but still sort of ...eh).

On top of all of this I had a bunch of juices I was really enjoying, ran low so ordered more, and now it somehow just isn't the same. I keep looking at all the gear and bottles I have collected asking "can't we all just get along"?

Did I go too fast? Did I overreach? Is this common?

I find myself wondering why I feel like I'm on the hunt for the Great White Whale here, always feel like there is a better tank, a better atty, a better dripper, a better coil, a better way to wick, a better mod...on and on it goes. When I smoked I never thought "hey, today I feel like something completely different. Who makes a great mellon flavored cig?" Now I'm constantly searching and lately have picked up some dogs in all areas.

Venting, yes. Giving up, no way. Happy to be off the cig, HELL yes!

Any advice from those that have been at this a while? Do tell and thanks in advance.

Oh yes I've been there  Most of the time I stick to plain Boge 3.0 ohm cartomizers and all is well. I've tried dripping, clearos, cartomizer tanks, and just have stuck with cartomizers. If it goes bad or pisses me of I toss it and fill a new one. Usually I get a week or two out of one. That's on a 7-15 mL of e liquid a day consumption. Meh to each their own though, and I do realize cartomizers can annoy folks. Topping off and what not. DIY-ing my own e liquid has really cut back on frustrations as well. It's cheaper and I can make exactly what I want. Anyhoo, I am glad you're not giving up. Find something you like and stick with it. Hopefully things will get easier for you :)

I think that at 6 weeks everything from cigarettes finally gets out of our system. I went through similar stuff, plus more, at 6 weeks. I temporarily went back to smoking until I finally discovered WTA and Swedish snus. Both have something that plain nic liquid didn't have.

Hopefully the dissatisfaction you are feeling passes, but if it doesn't, I would give snus a try first to see if it helps. :)

I looked into the snus and may try that, thanks for the advice. I guess I'm just experiencing a little frustration right now due to product shortcomings/failures but it was bound to happen as I'm trying everything. Guess it's just time to narrow it down a little maybe. As luck would have it since I posted I filled my KFL+ with juice I know I like, my new Aspire Nautilus is working well with the replacement coil, and at least my fav ejuices still taste good so looking up.

Should I move to high end gear? I don't know what to do other than start throwing the stuff I know I don't like in a drawer. Having too many choices is not a bad problem to have ;-).

High end gear is an option this is what I have those cartomizers attached to ;)

I have settled on an Evod battery with a mini T3S/1.8 ohm coil, and my DIY tobacco/WTA e-liquid. I have other 'higher' end gear (at least 10 different kits from 808 to vv/vw), but it really wasn't any better. Concentrate on the right liquid and topper setup, then you should be good to go. :)

ETA: Have you tried cartomizers? A lot of people hate them, but I stayed with them for a long time, because they are so simple and not frustrating to me.

Also remember at 6 weeks your tastebuds are starting to come back. Your juice choices may well change. Also possible the juices just have not steeped. As I understand it tobacco flavors in particular need to steep.

IF I were in your shoes I would grab the best combination of topper and battery I had and go out on a limb juice wise. Maybe try some fruits or a dessert vape. Something to break up the routine while the tobaccos steep. When I started I would never in a million years believed I would be a fruit flavor vaper but that is where I ended up. You never know until you try and given how much your tastebuds will change in the next few months it can change from day to day.

Good advise Myrany and I think you're right, my taste has been changing. Know exactly what you mean about the flavors, when I bought my first set up I was looking at the juices available in the shop and asked "don't you have just regular tobacco or cig flavor? I don't want cotton candy or watermellon". While I don't have those flavors in my mix but I do have mellon ball, pear, pecan pie, radiator Pluid, apple, etc. in rotation now.
