Talk about overwhelmed! Here I just wanted to replace my chain smoking while driving habit with something I don't have to spray myself and my car with Fabreeze so I can keep my hypocrisy away from my kids and toss the smoking glove I wear to keep my hands from stinking, so I start to look for e-cigs and Holy CRAP:shock: is there a ton of confusing stuff.
So bottom line.
I don't smoke at home, so some days I can only get in 1-4 smokes an entire day.
Go to work days, which sometimes is a week or more and driving for hours and hours, I chain smoke a pack to 3 packs in a day. I don't need nicotine smokes, I just like smoking.
Which one is easy, less costly, has most vapor, not a giant log hanging out of my mouth, and has longest lasting cartridges?
What is this dripping and liquid stuff I've seen, way to much to read and not enough time, so any help is much appreciated.
Anyone ever used/what do ya'll think of these guys?
modernvapor. com ( forum won't let me link yet )
I've also found this page and checked out each of these guys, but still not sure who, what etc to get.
reviewsmokelesscigarettes. com

Thanks a bunch, gotta get to sleep now.

I agree it's pretty overwhelming. And there's no simple right answer to the right model for you.

In my opinion you'd be happy with a 510 or KR808/VaporKing. The 510 is considered by some to have more vapor, while the VaporKing is considered by some to have longer lasting cartridges and be 'easier' to maintain.

Don't worry about dripping; it's a technique some choose to use but you do not have to to have a good experience.

As far as liquid goes, many choose to purchase their own liquid to reduce cost and increase the selection of available flavors, but you can get prefilled cartridges/cartomizers and for your small usage level they will probably serve you fine.

From what I've heard, modernvapor is a good and reputable vendor. I'm not familiar with reviewsmokeslesscigarettes.com.

Good luck in your journey and welcome!

reviewsmokelesscigarettes.com is an affiliate site (they get compensated for purchases linked from their site.), not so sure about the brands they are "reviewing" but I'm sure you can search these forums for reviews of each of them.

I am still new at this, but if you want easy, get a joye 510 and a car charger since that's where you do most of your smoking. I would say get the no box kit from cignot

Liquid (e-juice) = The juice that give you your vapor and/or nicotine
Dripping = Not refilling your cartridges with the liquid
Cartridges (Carts) = The reservoir that holds the liquid.

Like I said, I am new and I'm sure that the pro's here can provide a lot more help than I can, but at this stage in my vaping career this is where I'm at. :)

Good luck.

510 + driving not so good. Too much fiddling and topping up required. Go with the KR808 with a passthrough plugged into the cig lighter. You don't have to touch it at all no batteries just vape and be happy. simple and easy to use. 510s were great in their day and still good for experienced users because they run hotter but for convenience and ease of use on the go go with a KR.

TOO EASY!!!

I've been vaping for a month and so I'll give you the best advice I can give you. Coming into vaping, I was also overloaded with information. I can't tell you how grateful I was when I actually started to read the information posted. This helped me out ten-fold.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ping-illustrated-guide-e-cigs-part-1-6-a.html

It's six pages, but it's one source which is great. You don't need to read it all at once.

The reason there is so much information is because, just as people prefer different brands of cigarettes, people prefer different methods of vaping.

I'll try to give you a very general overview so as to remain brief. An e-cigarette has a battery, which is self-explanatory, a cartridge to hold liquid in (the liquid is what is being turned into vapor, and essentially consists of flavor and nicotine), and an atomizer that is heated up by the battery and heats the liquid to turn it into vapor.

When you buy an e-cigarette, you take the battery, screw on the atomizer, and put the cartridge of liquid on that. Then you vaporize!

Some people prefer a cartomizer (which is a cartridge of liquid and the atomizer to heat the liquid in one piece). With this setup, you just screw a flavor on to your battery and vaporize. These cartomizers can be costly, however, if you don't refill them.

In either case, cartridges/atomizers or cartomizers, you will want to buy liquid to refill. This keeps things cost-effective and gives you the freedom to try out 100's if not thousands of flavors.

For a simple solution, I would recommend this:
Vapor4Life- Electronic Cigarette: Vapor King Mini Kit with PCC

While I use the joye510, which uses the three piece setup, my girlfriend went with this for a cartomizer setup and she loves it. Cartomizers will last longer than a regular cartridge will as well.

I hope this helps.

Get it with a 510 connector. And get the charging cable offered there.

On the road a lot - you'll want cartomizers.

Get a usb car plug that is at least 1amp:

I also vote for a passthru for whatever model you choose.

I use 510s and 901s, never tried a KR808. I do agree the 510 needs topping up pretty often. However, if you decide a 510 is for you, you could use the prefilled carts (as suggested) or fill your own and just make sure you have several carts ready for switching in the car. It is simple enough to pop off a cart and pop on a new one. I would NOT recommend dripping or topping off a cart while driving.

Another option would be to go with something with an exposed atomizer (a la L88 aka Blu). A lot of people might tell you these are nowhere near as good as the 510 etc. However, I find that with an empty cart and dipping my blu is quite good. It's the carts that suck. Finding a way (velcro?) to attach a flip top contact lens case to somewhere easily accessible in your car would make dipping your exposed atty easy and is a quick way to freshen up your vapor/taste.

I'd still recommend a 510 or 901. Again, heard a lot of raves about the KR808 but can't personally speak there. :p

Good luck and happy vaping!

Do you have to use it with that big square box on it in the front? I work out in forests and such manning a big refilling truck for a helicopter to land on, I'd like something more like a cigarette for the size convenience. I do mostly smoke while driving, but the lack of stink will free me up to vape in places I currently don't smoke.

I recommend a Janty eGo aka tornado. It uses a 510 which I initially didn't like because of how often you needed to top if off. Then I discovered the ZFM (zero filler mod) http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/cartridge-mods/53487-zfm-zero-filler-mod.html one of the forum members invented. It allows you to fill the cartridge all the way - you get 1-4 hours of vaping on one refill. There's a learning curve, but once you get it you got it. He even sells them online ZFM Carts & Plugs 510 901 and 801 - Home

The eGo/Tornado lasts me all day on one charge. If you vape constantly it might last you 6 hours, which is really good. The set comes with 2 batteries and one atomizer - I suggest getting an extra one or two atomizers just in case. Their life expectancy is unpredictable.

I originally started out with the cartomizers but have found that the eGo gives me a much better throat hit, much more vapor, lasts much longer that the standard batteries, and the size is inconspicuous. I also recommend going with the manual batteries because I tried the autos and really need to suck on them to get anything. Plus, with manual batteries you could experiment with dripping if you want - no hole in the battery to get flooded

Also, if you're not addicted to the nicotine, go with the no nic flavors. There are soooo many out there to choose from. TastyVapor sells some really tasty liquid, mixed fresh. I'm sure there are a lot of other good vendors out there.

People advertising their products (both related and unrelated) plague forums - if you go to forums that have both no rules and no abuse, I'd like to see it - it's a very very rare thing (or a forum noone is using!)

Understood but the batteries on the cig styles just don't cut it for heavy smokers. You need a battery that not only lasts longer but one that delivers more power, so that determines what it's going to look like - a log or a box. The more it looks like a cigarette, the less it performs like one.

The tornado or ego is probably closer to what you want.

Wicked-TORNADO E-NI or Electronic Nicotine Inhalator Black.

You could start off with just a 510 starter kit and go from there.

Joye 510 NO BOX

I was trying to save you some money, actually. I was a 3 pack a day smoker myself - 9 months ago - like, been there, done that, got the tshirt ;-)

You just need 15 posts and you can link away - plenty of people to say hi to :)

Kent's righ ttho - you THINK you want one that looks like a cig, but you actually want one that works for as long as you need it too (re battery life). Also anything hte size of a cig will give you 3 puffs when you 'go digital'. They just wont hold any juice and the batteries would be so tiny theyd last 5 mins.
Heck my 510, which I love, has a crap battery life - I can put a battery into the charger inside of 20 mins of heavy vaping. Thats why i use a PT because Im not in forests all day. For you, you'd need a bigger battery - I mean you wouldn't cut down a sick tree with a butter knife now would ya? :)
