Can I ask where do you get your juice from?

That's the confusing part. I get my juices from various vendors. Finding you everyday juice is a tough one and you have to prepare yourself for the fact that no juice can simulate the taste of burning anything. Taste is too objective.

That being said, my favorite everyday juice for a long time was Dekang555. http://www.valuevapor.com/VV/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=3&products_id=41
The reason I point you here is because he sells them in both 24 and 12 mg. makes it easy for you to mix them for a medium nic strength. 50/50 would get you 18mg and you can leave some separate for times you need more or less. (great prices too, even though he does not sell 808 stuff :()

Neissie,

You are getting a lot of good recommendations here but I'll add a new one of my own.

I recommend the E-Power 14650 from Hoosier.

E-Power From Smok Tech and HECS

-Can use XL sized cartomizers. You only have to fill two cartos a day maximum if you were used to 1.5 packs a day. Filling from a bottle of e-liquid provides better flavor and economy than using pre-filled cartos.

-E-Power 14650 is a 3.7V device. It can produce much more vapor than your cigarette produced smoke.

-Can use low resistance (LR) cartos that produce a huge amount of vapor on 3.7V

-E-Power 14650 is very well made and won't cost you a fortune.

-Uses inexpensive standard rechargeable 14650 Li-ion protected batteries. One will last you more than a day per charging. These will cost you $4.50 or so apiece at replacement time, not up to $25 apiece.

-Power 14650 is small enough to fit in a pocket.

I recommend that you purchase the E-Power 14650 from Hoosier as I know he offers this pv with the blue LED switch electronics. There has been trouble with units equipped with the white LED switch electronics. Hoosier shipping is fast. He also carries the Smoktech 1.7 ohm LR XL cartomizer that is a standout with 3.7V units.

I'm a noob and I don't understand the difference between cartomizer, atomizer, cartridges, dual coil cartomizer, dual tank, etc. Do I need numerous parts to make it work, or are they different configurations? I want to start off with a kit, and I was looking at the E-Power 18650, the ones with the 2800mA batteries. The one you've presented seems good for the price though. Can I swap and add the batteries down the road? I like the option of being able to mod and choose the parts for the eGo models, so there's a lot more advanced personalized building you can do. I'm really confused, but I think I'm going to go this way.

BTW, anyone know a good site to get the Epower 18650 if it's already in a starter kit?

welcome staypuff, this is a great question but you should start a new thread so we can help you there and give you our undivided attention. In short, there is a battery which provides the power and then the parts screw on top to produce the vapor. They parts that sit on the battery come in two parts. the filler what holds the juice and the atomizer. The most popular parts are the ones that combine the filler and atomizer into one unit.
The epower uses 510 threading and any parts that contain the popular 510 tread can be swapped

BTW, Neissie, I don't know if anyone has pointed this out, but most prefilled cartomizers ARE refillable. When I first started I would toss my spent cartos into a bowl. When I found out you could refill them, boy was I glad I never got around to emptying the bowl! :D

Just remember to refill with similar flavors. I say similar and not the same, because I would refill a chocolate carto with Snikerz e-juice and it was great, or with coffee for a delicious mocha frapachino. And it's really easy. There are plenty of tutorials around to show you how.

But that can come later, for now good luck getting started!

Oh, and my :2c: on the nic level thing: I started out at 12 (I was a pack-a-day smoker), but I found myself constantly vaping. I switched to 24 and I'm much happier. You can always work your way down.

pack of Marlboro med 1 a day :D

I suggest 18mg strength.

Where do we get our juice? That's a loaded question! JK

Seriously, EVERY vendor sells juice, in one form or another. Many people like juices that come from China. These are what all the prefilled cartos are filled with. The most popular manufacturer is Dekang. The flavors are good and they come cheap. The production facilities in China are state of the art. I will link a video later in the post of where V4L gets their juice from.

Then there are the U.S.-based mixers, some large, some small. These folks are true artisans, very much like a winemaker, beer brewer, perfumer, or chef. The prices are typically a little higher than the China juices, but they also have an extra ingredient - soul.

As you may have guessed, I prefer the latter.

Never allow your batteries to charge unattended. There has been the very rare occurrence where the chip in the charger that senses when the battery is charged fails. Extremely rare and even happens with the more expensive $50.00 chargers.

Heed this advice. Better safe than sorry.

Also, it's better to charge your battery using the wall adapter. If you have to charge using just the USB on a computer, get a USB hub to do it. It is rare, but some computer power supplies just aren't up to the task, especially on laptops, and will fail. You could take out the USB port or motherboard as well. Again, better safe than sorry.

One more thing to consider about charging. Do not plug a battery into a charger that is "hot" and already plugged in. Attach the battery to the charger, and then plug the whole assembly into the wall socket or USB port. Less stress on the battery, especially over time.

throw in Vermillion River to that list. And they give a free sample to anybody, just pay for shipping. They also have a six pack sampler for $20 so I was able to try 7 of their juices for $23 shipping included. Their flavors are not overpowering and all of them I've tried really leave something complex and good to contemplate on the exhale. Very unique.

but I'm not sure if somebody who hasn't gotten their buds and smells back yet after quitting would really appreciate it.

Atomizer: A heating coil with a connector that atomizes (turns into vapor) e-liquid.

Cartage: A storage and delivery "tank" for use with a atomizer..lots of different styles of tanks.

Cartomizer: An all in one version of an atomizer and e-liquid tank.

Dual coil: 2 coils instead of one..this can produce more vapor.

Dual tank: Never heard of that but it must mean 2 tanks for e-liquid storage/delivery.

You need at least 2 parts to make an ecig work...

Vermillion is on the list, pre-edit no less. ;)

guess I'm gonna have to try a sample of the pomegranate on my next order......
One of my trusted suppliers has a Kgo kit as well as a Kgo battery with passthrough in stock. However, he lumps in ego in the description and fails to provide specs on the battery so as soon as he emails me back about the passthrough battery (and I order one first, of course ;) I'll confirm

The supplier supplier got back to me about the KGO passthrough. he said "The 1000 mAh KGO/Ego pass-through is an unregulated ego battery. So it puts out more voltage when it is fully charged than it does when near empty. It is not the same battery as we use in our KGO but very similar. ..."

I replied asking that as long as it has a good charge, and is plugged in, will it stay about 3.7 or higher. I'm sure he will let me know by tomorrow. This may be a good option for KGO users working at a computer if it stays at high voltage or even as a backup. I imagine a 1000mah battery will stay good for a lot of the day........

there's the blah, blah, blah......and lovely avatar, Neissie!

edit: it sounds like how we've been describing the Riva, but with passthrough option:facepalm:(now I'm so confused!!!!)
