I have had my evic for about 6 months or little longer and I saw the same thing Where I would get slightly less performance below 50/60% as well. In the beginning I was charging through the USB cord, but after I bought an external charger (for my mech) I haven't had the problem or noticed it as much. By habit I now change my battery at 50% and grab my second battery and continue vaping.

You can get a firmware factory reset also that may fix buggy software. Its available from the Joyetech website.

Reset your eVic and see what happens?

Your battery may be getting on in age also.

I know it is no longer "highly regarded" but I use mine with the Joyetech approved Panasonic 18650b and love the battery life. It works for a Loooong time!
