I was really hoping this device was going to be a winner. After seeing pbusardo's review I closed my wallet. The Vmax is bad enough with its clunky interface the evic looks is even worse. Someone called it a glorified puff counter and that's pretty much all it is.

yup. busardo just released a second set of readings from the meter tests after v1.1 and the voltage and amperage is still wacky anyways.

Hehe, yep, I had everything filled out and almost clicked the "submit order" button yesterday for an eVic, but I decided to wait (the cost and the fact it was so new), yay!

I was still going to get one when taxes come in but I think I might wait a few months instead :D Fix the head, fix the menu navigation and fix the voltage (and some misc) and you'll have me as a customer!

PS: just the fact that they are going to spend quite a sum of money doing a recall means they are here for the long run, they made a mistake and they are fixing it, that actually gives me confidence in the company.

I bought 2 eVic's from Ovale. Ovale has looked at their units and they claim they did not have any recalled units sold or in stock. I love my eVic it is spot on I am using a 2.5 ohm 32awg coil with 400 SS mesh wick and at 6.5 watts with my cheep screw on meter the unit is producing 4.0 volts. That's perfect in my book! I am also a ProVari owner and maybe now I will send in my unit for a V2 upgrade.

I'm glad that they'll replace it - may have to wait tho

I actually got to know through ECF first in this thread and the APV forum
And only then saw it in the news section on the home page of Joyetech
