I have the original NI coil that goes into the eVic VT straight from the box. I got it this past Sunday and the first two days worked fine, now after a while if I take over a 3-5 second hit a burning taste comes into my mouth and almost scorches my throat. The power setting is 30.0W, Voltage 2.56, Atomizer .22, Temp NI is 300F Power 30.1W, Atomizer .22, Temp TI is 300F, Power 30.1 W, and atomizer .22 Can anyone help me with anything that I can do to stop getting a burnt taste in my mouth or to somehow make this work properly, thanks.

I think you are trying to set all the different modes at the same time. then ending up on the wrong mode. If you use the Ni200 coils. all you have to set is the Ni mode. you do not have to touch any other mode. as a safety feature you should set the power mode to 8 watts, but that is just in case the Evic switches from Ni to power.

I am using same NI coil, just make sure you are set on TC under temp NI because originally my eVic came with ni coil inside it, but the device was set to temp Ti (titanium) but i've been running mine on 480-490F 60 W at .2ohm no problems to report so far... just make sure you dont accidentally hit the settings switch when you pull, it can switch modes on you, there is a way to lock it if you hold down the power btn and flick the set switch to the right so you can't accidentally hit it, anyway my 2 cents hope it helps :)

hmm sounds like it's not in temp control, maybe try switching the first setting to temp control NI? worked here, if you switch the first setting to "temp NI" (power button click 3 times then setting switch flick right till it flashes "temp NI" and then press power button again that's the setting I use for nickel TC coil works like a charm

I'm not so sure about the setting of 60 watts, wattage or Joules only works in so much that it quickens the ramp up time, but you could set it for 40 and probably get the same vape from it. Once your coil hits the set temp (in this case 490) it will regulate the wattage down to simply maintain that temp.

I hope someone agrees with me on this, but it's been my experience with TC

I have it at the power screen and it reads 30.0W 2.56V .22 Atomizer when i vape i just hold the button should i check my other screens or anything else?
If it is showing 30 watts, 2.56 volts and 0.22 ohms, then you are in Power mode, which is designed for kanthal (non-temp control) coils. You need to switch it to temp control mode (if you are using the nickel coil with the blue insulator on the coil, it has to be in Temp Ni mode). You need to click the power button three times and when the Power and wattage display flashes, then push the toggle switch on the top to the right one time until it shows Temp Ni and the temperature.

in temperature control mode, the voltage never appears on the screen. Just (in order from top to bottom) the temperature, wattage, and coil resistance.

The problem is that the Power (non-temp control) mode will accept coils down to 0.2 ohms resistance and since your nickel coil measures that 0.22 ohms, it will work in power mode.

I think you're right, it will regulate the wattage by itself, well atleast the eVic VT will far as I know, so I just left it on the default setting of 60W, thinking it will auto-control the wattage but I just got this box so might be wrong here :)
