picking up a new kit with the Tron tank.. tough deciding between the Gray (appears to be like a gun metal color) or possible Gold.

slightly leaning towards the gray, white is very nice too but i wonder if it will show stains/dirt more. why do they have to make so many colors!!

I got one of the original black kits on Cyber Monday for $35. If I had the choice, I would have gone for the gray. It looks spiffy.

Dual nickel coils can be a bit tricky; but, yes, they work. All else being equal, your two spaced coils simply have to be as equal as possible in resistance. Because of the super low resistance of Ni200, 28 or 30g is probably the best choice. YMMV.

Good luck!
<3 This perfect members making ecf so great. Thank you sir.

im still confused with all these coils.. will this rebuildable coil head work with TC if i install a SS or Ti coil? or do i specifically need the rebuildable with gold connector for TC? the gold one only seens to come in 0.5ohm with bigger air hole, i wanted the 1.0ohm rebuildable head because it as a smaller hole, which is better for Mouth to lung, but don't want to lose out on TC.

Joyetech decided to use a gold-plated positive pin for their TC heads. Did they do it just for looks? Does the gold plating help with resistance and TC functionality? Try it. If it doesn't seem to work, grab the gold-plated pin from the CL head that was included with the eGo One Mega. I'm still waiting on my CLR heads, so I can't offer any personal experience on this. Maybe others have some insight.

You can put TC wire in any of them.

If you want the more restricted airflow, you can use any and just close down the AFC with the larger holed CLRs.
It's adding airflow to the 1.0s that's not possible.

yeah that's what i'm wondering if the gold pin actually serves a purpose. surely someone here has to have tried the non-gold CLR head with a SS/Ti coil with TC?

joytech should have just made a gold CLR head with 1.0ohm for MTL, but maybe they figured 1.0ohm was pushing the limit for TC.. who knows.

I think it's coded to top out at 1.0 in TC, so building close to that may cause problems when the res rises with use.

As to the plating... well, it's gold colored. LOL
I don't think it's a major factor.

Stainless steel TC works just fine with any positive pin. I've done it with the silver pins and the gold pins. There's no difference except for airflow using the 1 ohm head pins. I use either the gold or the normal .5 ohm pins to get more airflow, but they all work exactly the same for temp control. Have no fear.

Side note: I updated to the 3.0 firmware and it works great so far. The watts seem to be applied differently to the coil from the 2.0 firmware. I can go much higher with the watts and my vape temp seems to stay more even at lower temps. Before I had to lower the watts to get a smooth cool vape. Now I can crank the watts higher and it doesn't "pulse" as much using 316L SS. Also, the watts seem to scroll faster, so going in one direction isn't as much of a hassle. Haven't messed with TCR adjustments yet. Gotta say, I may have to get a third VTC now.

These updates are amazing. Joyetech really seems to be making the most of the firmware upgrade feature. Each update makes me like this mod more and more and it was already my favorite single 18650 mod. Major kudos.

Instructions are in Chinese... Just kidding. Haven't seen any.

5 clicks Off... hold Fire & Up to enter TCR memory programming mode (3 registers).

New screen layout too. Better for those of us with lesser vision. I like. :p

Looks very Presa like, but better.
