I might be in for the box only, but $56 for the mod only at 3fvape is still a bit too high for me (the d2 was $43.. and I don't see any advantages.. but joyetech is always a bit more expensive)

The link on your link says it has a "510 spring connector"...(but says nothing about buck/step-down)...

I've been a bit of a mech head and have never owned a firmware-updateable vaping device, so what's the process like with different companies or chipsets?

The Joyetech eVic-VTC Mini (JeVM) is said to be getting Mac (nix underneath the mascara) support besides MS-windows. Anyone using Linux to flip those bits (e.g. just dd'ing the new fw over)?

Do people have security concerns plugging these to their computers, esp. when it requires running some closed-source installer program?

Pre-release, when Joyetech had a Facebook poll, I wrote in the comments that if they offer firmware upgrades to please add Linux and Mac support, since not everyone run Windows. Don't know if we'll see it.
