Ok cool well credit where credit is deserved you and Defdock came up with a good plan as egrip only thing for me that stands up to being on site all day just the battery lets it down. Yeah it's in the queue for review, it not a bad looking device but bigger in the hand than I expected Or Mr b has really small hands!
Exactly why I have 8 of the darn thing but only 3 can take the cl heads at this point. Everything else is still on rba and are seeing very little use recently.

Just updated to the V1.20 firmware. It does go to up to 75 watts now.

So far Temp control is working for me in Nickel mode.

Will test the Temp Control all day today to see if any issues arise.

That's quite a collection mate lol. I bought a couple of oled with cs bases in uk but quickly realised that the coils were pants so i got a pack of 5 cl bases shipped from germany and did what you and Defdock did. I skipped the rba as clr were available by then and have proved most reliable if a bit fiddly. Still I'm putting them to use in the ego mega now as well, pity I can't make use of the ti clr's I bought!

I hope it fixes it all up and if it does, then this is some kind of Butterfly Effect thing since I just got rid of mine...

I gotta say this is usually the kind of thing that happens to me! Need to test this though but glad it turned up before I attacked mine with a hot poker! Would you convert back if it works lol?

I would still fix all the bad solder joints up just for peace of mind.
If it did work fine and was SOLID I'd probably order another VTC mini in from efun.top for $40 CAD landed, unless our dollar takes more of a nose dive with a possible change of government on the 19th. It would be after Christmas for sure as my vape budget is drained. ;)

By then there will be a new shiny or two to drool over... The iSitck TC V200 maybe...
Be more of a choking on spit than a drool.

I only ran it in Power mode before I updated it to V1.20. I just wanted to see if I could duplicate the issues posted in this thread. So far its doing great, been asleep several times, reawakens and vapes just like before it went to sleep. No anemic vape or 5w problems. Temp starts out at 70deg.

I do have a V1.0 Hardware version, not sure if that might have something to do with it or not....

Im not a huge fan of Temp control to begin with, so it doesn't matter to me if the TC did or did not work. I will keep it regardless of whether TC worked or not because in Power mode its been running flawlessly and the form factor/display is great. So for $40 it was worth it to me to add another small regulated mod to my collection.

I picked mine up at a B&M to support the local vaping economy... Was a lot more expensive than that. I wanted a TC device and it is the best looking, nicest featured, small form factor one out there.

Ok so I've not long got in from work and I've reassembled the vtc after leaving it on the bench over night. I've put the ego mega with a ti clr on after updating the firmware. Got it reading 12°c in my shed (uk ,no heating) which is accurate. Set at 230°c about 450f at 70 watts and it vapes good. It's been to sleep , woken up multiple time and no resistance drift! Just thought it was sorted and it drops .02ohm but it still vapes pretty good. My thinking is that the extra power is heating the coil up before it hits the temp ceiling as it does not drop down now to 5w after hitting temp protect it stays around 11w. Has Joyetech tried masking a hardware fault by chucking more power at it I wonder!?

I couldn't get mine to boot after firmware upgrade so I took battery out put it back in still dead, thought I'd killed it but ran firmware update a second time and it recovered.

Well I upgraded mine. I don't see any surface changes other than 75 watts. I've been running Ti in my Lemo for a week out so. This build has ranged from 0.62 to 0.51 ohms on the previous firmware with lower resistances requiring increases in set temperature as expected. This firmware reads the build as 0.55 ohms. 470f is a comfortable for me right now. We'll see how the night goes at work.
