Already stated, tried TI in NI200 mode. Worked at first, then degraded. Seems that the chip totally over-estimates the temp of the coil at some point and immediately goes into TC mode. Listen I don't wanna rehash history here, it took me a couple hours to read this thread yesterday :) I've tried it all, no good.

(Well, I haven't tried the stainless steel, but eh.)

Now the VTC Mini is just another VW mod I have (though admittedly a pretty one, great menus, etc). Thank goodness it was inexpensive...but the TFV4 I Mini bought for TC has gotta get use, so now I need another TC mod that actually works...I'm leaning towards a ipv3 LI.

Ive got a simple fix that might work for you.
It's helped my Subtank mini sit flush on other mods.
It deals with adjusting the floating 510 center pin on the tank.

    Remove the tank section.
Leave the base on the mod but unscrew a half turn or so
Unscrew the coil head a few turns, this will allow the 510 center pin to come up some.
Now screw down the base til it's flush
Tighten the coil back down, this will push the center pin back down onto the mod
    Put the tank back on

    Vape :D

    Hope this helps :)
Thanks for the tip, this helped me also. My tank now sits flush.

Just received my vtc mini from efun.top not bad service just over a week from China to the UK.

Checked the scratch and sniff code as was a little dubious but genuine.

So far impressed, I got it to replace a dying istick 30w as I wanted a small mod with replaceable battery. Love the screen and it feels better build quality compared to the isticks. Feels heavier which I like as well.

Not interested in temperature control just using it for wattage and again so far spot on, no issues to report. put in a fresh LG HG 3000mah 20A battery so should get a great life using my GS Air-M with a 1.3 own built coil at 15watts.

Real world observation using Subtank Mini with RBA Plus. I have been using Titanium in the Ni mode set to 40 watts, 430-450F.

Evic Mini VTC, Hardware 1.10, software 1.20

    Titanium Grade 1, 28 gauge
3mm spaced coil, 0.5 ohms, rayon wick

Unlocked Ti mode on my iStick 40w thanks to a member in another thread who saw it in a German review. I wanted to compare both using similar settings (set to 40 watts on both, in Ti mode).

Findings: Similar vaping experience to Ni mode 40w/450F on both devices when temp is set to 580-600F in Ti mode. No anemic vape to speak of. I did experience it at lower temperature, but not now.

So is Ti mode broken, or is 550-600F normal when using titanium (at least on my setup)? Both devices behaved the same in Ni and Ti mode using titanium. Vape is nice and cool, seems more tame than what I was getting in Ni mode.

    Outrageous!

Don't have anything to test it's accuracy right now, but it appears to do with the Crown 0.25 SS what my other Ti mode mods do.

    Thanks.

eta: Had to spread the word, not sure how I missed the news to be honest.
Now I really need to shop some SS. I like my little 40TC, but this gives it new life.

Yep. Turn device off, simultaneously hold up arrow and fire button in until "Ti-On" is displayed (about 20 seconds). You can now select Ti mode.
why dont they advertise that feature?!?!? So cool!!

edit: Bloody hell, it works! In Ti mode at 450F. Excellent!

Yeah it works great as a VW mod, great replacement for the iStick 30 or 50W. Though I still love my iStick 50W. :)

Oooh, may get a iStick 40W if it has TI mode. Can you tell how to unlock, or link to the post?

EDIT: Doh, you already posted instructions. Sorry :)

It worked great for me too, at first. I think it worked for everyone at first. I hope you have 0 problems, but give it awhile before you decide it's working perfectly...

well before you grab a hammer and hammer the evic :)
    try ss wires :)
either way it wont go to waste you can use ss on either vw mode or temp control mode.

So one of Joytech's marketing folks replied to my support e-mail. They said that for this issue I should turn it off and remove the tank until it cools down. *sigh*

That's lovely. I'm waiting for my vendor to "yea or nay" my return request. I'll never buy Joyetech again.

On another note, have you gotten your D2 yet, and if so, how's it going? I'm still waffling between a D2 (equivalent to VTC Mini) or a IPV3 Li (major step upwards). That decision will likely be made if and when I can receive store credit for this piece o' chit.

Not yet, I have to send this back to my Vendor, They are being totally cool about it and taking it back for credit. I have it boxed and waiting to ship as soon as my RMA form goes through (which they say can take up to 5 business days when you fill it out). Not sweating it too much, they seem like good folks, very understanding and willing to make things right for me, even though it's not even remotely their fault. I plan on a D2 with a SubTank Mini at this point, so will let you know when I finally get them and test them out. My sample pack of juice should be well steeped by then :)

I wanted something small with decent power and TC, so I have been staying away from the other more powerful mods mostly. Dual Batts would be nice, but bigger than I want.
I really do like the design, aesthetics, and the screen on eVic VTC, just too bad that I wasn't quite as lucky as a lot of people to have it work correctly. If I had been looking for VW only, I could even see buying the eVic for that alone just because it has nice features, feels nice in the hand and seems pretty durable. Unfortunately my unit and their response to it, have soured me on buying JoyTech any longer. Like I said I truly hope they get this all sorted out because if it works correctly it's a hell of a mod.
