2 several screwinga nd unscrewing
...
4 freezing the whoile darm set up on the firdge before locking

These two I didn't try, because even if they worked, who wants to deal with that ....? I mean...use NI200 mode? Sure. Keep my resistance unlocked? No problem. But I'm not gonna play whack-a-510, unscrewing and screwing all day long just to have my device work.
5 using ss wires on ti or vw mode on kanthal for a few days, weeks
then redo the update (some of use were doing this then the update showed up and when we updated it was fixed, not sure if the update had anyrhing to do with it hahahahha)
Haha...just for giggles, I just re-downloaded the software update. Downgraded all the way down to 1.02. Then flashed up to 1.10. Then flashed up to 1.20. Also kept a battery in it. Maybe I'll slap a TI coil in it later today, if I feel like abusing myself. :)

Sure, I read the entire thread, and I saw those, I'm just saying I didn't try them. :) I'm not slagging anyone off or criticizing, I'm just saying that I wouldn't consider those tactics "solutions"...if I have to freeze my mod or unscrew my atty every 5 minutes to get a decent vape, it's a hopeless cause anyway.

VTC Mini is a great mod in VW mode,

Hey the new Wismec 75watt TC looks really nice to.

Merc
...agree the VTC Mini is GREAT in VW mode.

As a low wattage "tootle puffer" I love it. (Plus...I do not use TC since I'm still concerned about off-gassing/leaching of nickle into the ejuice.)

Have a Cyan one and was going to get a Black one.

But then...Snyder...you mentioned the Wismec 75WTC.

It appears to be quite similar to the VTC...but has that incredible fire button...

ADDED: ECF thread I found about the Wismec...

does anyone know of a vendor that is shipping out the vtc mini with the new fw already installed?
Not 1.20, but efun shipped mine a few weeks ago with 1.10 (which was the latest at the time), hardware 1.10. They seem to get theirs directly from Joyetech?

Speaking of the Wismec Presa 75WTC...from another thread...
It's the Joyetech Evic VTC mini chip...

No way I'm touching that with a ten foot pole. :) Apparently Joyetech owns Ismoka, eLeaf, AND Wismec. While I still like iStick, it's a known quantity since I have two of them and they both work great.

Just wanted to add since people are mentioning running SS coils in Ti Mode as a possible fix:

I'm running 430SS in Ti Mode and frequently experiencing the instant temp protect problem as others describe here. At first I thought it was poor performance of my new tank (UD Bellus), but discovered it's not. One benefit of running SS coils is that they'll fire in regular VW mode. And the Bellus has been stellar this way - 30W 80vg/20pg juice and I can chain-vape this all day without even a trace of dry hits.

With this setup I'm still very much satisfied with my VTC - even with it's problems I'm thinking about buying another one (and a couple more Bellus tanks) and cross my fingers that an update in the future rectifies the TC issues.

Interesting...thanks for the report. I'm just getting started in building so I'm gonna stick to kanthal and titanium for now (except the fact that the Uwell Crown's pre-build coil heads use SS got me very excited...)
