Hey everyone. I'm back from a long hiatus from vaping! :) Maybe some of you will remember me?

Anyway, I'll get down to the point. I am coming back the vaping from the time of 12-15WATT mods.
I'm really having a fun, but challenging time, learning about 20+ Watt & Temp Control Devices! :)

Right now, I am looking at both the Evic-VTC Mini and the Kangertech Subbox Mini.
At this time, I am leaning toward the Evic as my next PV. (I'll be receiving it as my big Xmas gift)
According to a few Youtube reviews, the Evic's paintjob is of a higher quality.
I also like the aesthetics of the Evic's body style, and, the screen+button appeal to me as-well.
I've also heard that the Kanger Heads lose flavor quicky (ive heard no bad rumors of the joye coils)

However, something is bugging me about the Evic VS the Subbox Mini...
IS the Evic's EGO-One Tank of a higher-quality in comparison to the Kanger SubTank?
I NEED to keep long-term costs down, and by that, I mean, I need the ability to rebuild, over buying coils.
ARE the "rebuildable coil head" 5 packs that Joye sells for $14.99 worth it?
Are they any better than the Subbox Mini's SubTank Rebuilding Platform??
I realize that you get FIVE rebuildable heads for $14.99 and the Kanger Subbox gives you ONE rebuildable head, with NO chance of buying a new rebuildable head, without buying a new Subtank...
So, is the EGO-One Tank worth it? Or, are those rebuildable coil blister-packs NOT on-par?

Can anyone confirm or prove that any of this is false?
Can anyone give me a good path to move towards as far as choosing the right tank?
I mean, I could buy the Evic VTC Mini and the Kanger Subtank, if I had to...
ANY help would and will be greatly appreciated!! Thank you for your time!

Though I don't own one, I've read many times that the Ego-One tank is just not worth the hype. You'd probably be better off with the Subtank.

Whatever tank you get, it's best to get a tank with a true rebuildable deck option. It's much easier to build on with various coils than simply trying to rebuild the little coil heads. If you don't yet build much, it makes the learning curve a whole lot easier.

That is what I'm thinking Coolloser, get the VTC Mini Mod and a Subtank Mini.
I've been rebuilding since the start of rebuilding and I have no problem rebuilding coil heads.
But, that is a GREAT tip- that you can buy RBA heads for the Subtank on Fasttech! WOW! Thanks bro.

I know that i missed all the darn black friday/cyber-monday deals, I was too busy buying half-price new cell phones for myself and my mother. Turns out, the Sprint website checkout kept corrupting, and we eventually had to run thru the process on "lease phones" rather than 'pay upfront' and we've NEVER leased anything in our lives... Come to find out, we would have to give the phones back after 2 years of paying for them monthly... WHAT THE F IS THAT SH*T!? So the ONLY cyber monday deal I worked so feverishly on, wound-up getting CANCELED over the phone, when the Sprint phone rep refused to give us the half-off price the next day. ALL my time researching EVERY company and EVERY possible phone combination went down the drain... AND i missed out on PV DEALS!!

Thinking about just going for the Kanger set-up. Not finding any Subtanks under 16.99 in the US.

Or maybe I'll just buy the EVIC-VTC mini with the Delta2 rebuildable tank :p
OR maybe I'll just buy a whole different device + tank combo all-together...
The koopor 60w mini + the Delta, or the frosted iSub tank would be cool 2gthr.
The Aspire Odyssey v2 is BEAUTIFUL, and it seems really refined & finished.
The Aspire Odyssey is just a bit out of my price-range... But def a contender.

I prefer RTA's but I have both of the tanks your asking about and one of the mods. I also have Subox's in the house and in the family.

First off the last generation Subox isn't TC although they do have one out.

The VT Mini is a decent mod. I'm not super impressed with battery life but its not the worst. In wattage mode its a good mod. In TC with Ni it works well. TC with Ti doesn't seem to work well. SS TC also seems to work well. I was actually very impressed with the SS TC but have done little homework yet.

The Subtank Mini (STM) is a great tank. I don't use the store bought coils except what they came with. The RBA is fantastic. I mostly bulid them with 24ga wire for great effect at .5Ω but currently have one built with 22ga wire and its also working great.

The Ego One Mega is a decent tank. It is a TC tank and comes with Ni coils that worl well and Ti coils that work terrible on some of my Ti mods and not at all on the VT. Even though its a TC tank the CL and CL-R coils work. They are pretty good coils. I have not rebuilt them but they are TINY!!!!!

If you get a deal on a VT with the tank take it but if buying seperate get a VT and STM>

Does any1 know what the difference between the Kanger Subbox Mini and the Kanger Subbox NANO kit is?
I notice that the Subbox Nano kit comes with a tank that does NOT have O rings that match the mod buttons.
The tank on the Subbox NANO kit also lacks the knurling at the bottom of the tank (by the airflow controls)
That's the ONLY difference I can see in comparison to the Kanger Subbox MINI kit :( There must be more...?

I ask because I found a website selling the Kanger Subox Nano kit for $40.00 w/tank!!!
But... Is the NANO an EARLIER version of the Kanger Subbox MINI? Is that it!? I bet... no?

are you serious!? It isn't the other way around!?
what about the NANO mod!? is it the same exact mod as the mini kit, but with a smaller tank version!?

EDIT- I think we may be wrong here....
The description for the "NANO kit" on the website I'm thinking of, says that the kit comes with the "KBOX NANO" and the "SUBOX NANO-S" whatever that means... Is the KBOX a different device from the SUBOX!? Is the KBOX-NANO a smaller version of the KBOX, or the SUBOX!?

Is there a clear difference? I can see that the NANO kit's buttons are the same color as the body paint... There is no color scheme. The body of the mod and the tank are all 1 color.

I was at a shop and saw them side by side. Both mini and nano kits come with a mod and a tank and a charge cable. The mini come with an rba that won't fit in a nano tank even tho they use the same coils.

I have a blue mini that has buttons, tank and drip tip the same color and a white one with black orings, buttons and drip tip. The nano came out after the mini and I guess they made the buttons etc the same color.

ah-HA! so the MOD is essentially the SAME mod, but with different color-scheme.
the tank ATOP the nano however, is slightly different!
the NANO tank holds 3.0ML of juice. the MINI tank holds 4.5ML of juice!!
the MINI kit comes with one 0.5 and one 1.5ohm coils! The NANO kit comes with one 0.5 and one 1.5ohm coil as-well!
but the MINI kit comes with one RBA BASE! The NANO kit DOES-NOT come with an RBA-BASE!!!
the MINI kit comes with 4 RBA coils. The NANO kit, having NO RBA-BASE, does-NOT come with 4x RBA Coils!! :O

the MINI starter-set comes with a SCREW-ON battery door. The NANO starter-set comes with a MAGNETIC battery door...
ALTHOUGH- I do believe I have seen the MINI kit sold with the magnetic battery door on several websites. (perhaps a factory change!)

U have been VERY helpful! Thank you SO much for all of your help.

With all of this confusion... I am honestly thinking about just going for the EVIC VTC Mini set box. Either that, or I am going to go with the EVIC VTC MINI mod-body, and the KANGER Subtank (the larger one, with RBA-ability) (like was recommended above) Good idea.

either that, or I am going to go-ahead and dive face-first into a brand-new Aspire Pegasus MINI with a tank or clearo of my choice! :p lol. If I can "afford" this option, I may wind-up going with it. Issue is, I definitely would like to get an Ihybrid with some new batteries, which is what is bring my price 20-30 dollars OVER my allowance.. Unfortunately. I'll figure it out.

I own both and the each have pluses and minuses.

IMO the evic mod is better. Better screen, better construction. I've only had them for a couple of months so no telling about longevity.

When it comes to the tanks.
Subtank is way more substantial and solid. You can buy additional rba heads. I think it is better for STL hits. The rba rebuilds like a kayfun.
However I like the vaping of the ego one tank better for my style of tootle puffing MTL hits. The clr coils are great for using just like any replaceable heads in other tanks and you get 5 per pack, which means you can always have a spare standing by. These rebuild more like a protank.

Bottom line, I like both but for different reasons. At the moment I am using the subtank on the Kanger box, so I'm flexible.

very interesting! thank you so much for your input...
i have been away from vaping for such a long time, that I've got no idea what tootle-puffing is...
I'm also unsure of what "MTL Hits" & "STL Hits" would stand-for... would some1 maybe be-able to enlighten me?
I'm guessing that "Tootle-Puffing" is a term for "not cloud chasing" IE: just vaping for the flavor/throat-hit?
But I've got no-clue what MTL hits and STL hits would mean? Can some1 help w/this?
I'm not-even completely sure what "CLR Coils" are, hahaha... I used-to feel as-if I was 1of the MOST informed ECF members.
NOW I feel as-if I am probably 1 of the LEAST informed of all the ECF Vets. I NEED to catch-up, since...
1 of my FAVORITE aspects of vapin' is spending two-tree hours here on ECF, helping n00bs become seasoned vapers. ;)

As-far as the "Ego-ONE Tank" being more akin to the Protank2, that sounds FINE for my vape-style.
As-far as the Subtank Mini being better for, well, rebuilding, obviously (with it's stand-alone RBA platform)
