EVOD leaking?

Last couple of days I seem to be tasting more of the juice when vaping from the EVOD BCC, and seem to be going through alot more juice.

Found a blog that says to add another seal upside down, didn't work. Changed the tank to a spare with a fresh coil and juice, same result. Thought I may be puffing too hard, but tried toning it down. Still getting the taste and going through lots of juice. Definitely coming down the tube to the mouth peice.

Could be user error, should I be dry burning once in a while?

I don't dry burn ever. It may just be something wrong with your tank…I mean they are only 7 or 8 bucks so I might just try to get another one. When Evods work they work great! But I had one recently that totally shot the threading and it won't screw onto anything at all :/
So maybe add another small wick in the coil(over the 2 top wicks that sit over the coil) or just buy a new one?

1) try a new coil
2) try not to crank it down, tighten it too tight, or torque it onto your battery. Finger tight is all it needs to be. Many make the mistake that if it's leaking, "crank everything up super-tight!" That will, in fact, do the exact opposite of what you're wanting to prevent. It will only hasten leaking.
3) do not let the tank get below half full. If your tank is about half full, just flip her upside down, and fill her right back up to full. If you vape it too low in a bottom-coil clearomizer or a T3S, it'll leak. It just will. There's a trade-off with everything in vaping. Keep that tank as full as possible at all times, do not overly-tighten it onto your battery, and take looong, slooow drags on your tank. Do not hotbox it or puff like a cig.

Think I found the problem... Cleaned up the tank, fresh fill with the same coil. But...

I don't think the silicon ring was seating properly. When the silicon ring comes off, there's a very short shoulder under the coil that's not knurled. Cleaned it up, took a knife and gently pressed the seal into the shoulder. Seems to be working now, guess i'll know before long. Half dozen puffs and I don't taste the juice.

B'ye the jaysus, it vapes better than it tastes.

Based on all the posts and issues I read about bottom-coil, it really seems like they're more of a hassle than top-coil. The CE4's I use are definitely cheap, but it seems like it's only cuz they're so mass-produced. I just got into vaping, and they must have gotten better and better w/ each redesign, and to me they seem fool-proof. I'm currently rotating 8 right now, and I've only stopped using a couple after 2 months. They're so consistent and any type of dry or burnt hit is rare. I hardly ever have to clean them or the coils. If I ever get juice gurgling in the center tube like this issue is describing, it's a 2 second fix where I take it off and blow into it, and the juice comes out the bottom. I wanna try BCC's at some point, but w/ some of the issues I read about, I'd be ....... For example ruining a whole tank full of juice cuz the coil burnt it. Or it starts gurgling cuz my tank is less than half-full.

If you're displeased with clearomisers, wicks, coils, etc., you may want to look into carto tanks. They aren't for the lazy, but many people make them seem to be unfathomable here. It's quite simple, really, especially if you have a mentor who can show you or are willing to Youtube it or read Baditude's blogs (he's a wizened and long-time guru here on ECF, and his every word should be trusted implicitly). In vaping today, what with rebuilables and all, priming a carto is easy-peasy.

Changed the coils on all three EVOD tanks tanks tonite. 1.8 ohm coils came with the kit, the retailer gave me a pack of protank coils to replace - same thing, but they are 1.5 ohm. 200% better than the stock coils, no leaks, very nice vape.

So if any of you have bought the evod kit, bear it in mind if they are leaking. It's different packaging, don't know if they are made in different places or not...

I drill out two of the air holes on the Evod heads to 1/16" and have never leaked a drop since. Not everyone has the same strength of draw. If the air flow is too tight you will get juice in the mouthpiece because the vacuum created is too strong. I drilled one hole at a time and two was good for me. There are three small holes that come stock. I have heard of people drilling anywhere from one to three depending on what they like.

I had thought about doing that, meant to ask. but then again, just backing the battery off works fine as well.

Interesting, after vaping the original tanks with the new coils, I realized the protank seemed to be giving a little too much flavor, like a small leak but I used the coils that came with the unit. Great, lovely...

Put one of the new ones in from the package I was given and it vapes much better. I suspect the coils that come with the kanger tanks are cheaper or substandard, 4 tanks and all the same issues. Minor to major leaks.

If you buy a kit or a new tank, spend a few extra bux and buy some new coils. Throw the ones that come with it in the garbage or use them as spares. I've blown through alot of juice and I know now that the vaping over the last 10 days wasn't what it should have been. As a new vaper, I wouldn't have known.

Good luck.

So this is what vaping is supposed to be like, now i'm really hooked.

Had 3 bottles of juice I couldn't stand, been in the drawer since I bought them. Pulled them out tonite for another go with the new coils. Turns out, I love them.

Short gentle pulls is all I need to get a good hit now, before I was drawing long and harder to get a decent hit.

Much better.

The coils that came with the EVOD kit and the protank are in the garbage where they belong. After all that, i'm chancing anything else. Only a buck each locally, i'll buy more as I need them. Sent an email to the store where I bought them to see if he can confirm with the coils from another kit.

What a difference, i'm not tasting the sweet anymore. "Do more eh" actually tastes like a cigarette now, very nice vape.
