I am having a problem with the 2.5 ohm heads. After about 5-6 fills the ohms change from 2.5 to (3.3 -3.5), this has happened with 4 of them now.
I have tested them in the Smoktech gripper mod and also out of the evod with a multimeter so the problem isn't with the evod, just the heads.
I am vaping a 50/50 pg/vg peppermint flavor with a small amount of sucralose & koolada, using both a KGO & an eGo-t upgrade mod.
Thanks in advance.

Give them a good cleaning... I prefer PGA when possible since it works faster. If that isn't available in your area, Look at the various vodka's and get the strongest available ( remember, taste quality isn't an issue, if it's not meant for drinking ). Dry burn afterwords just as a matter of course.

The coils can't change their properties so, based on what you said, it has to be a dirty contact somewhere which could happen with any coil head or carto.

Thanks, but I had already tried that with the first 2. It just irks me that I can get a Phoenix bottom coil to last 100+ days with regular cleaning and I haven't had an evod last 2 days.

Edit: I will pull one apart to see if the problem is with the coil or if it is the connections with the base and/or center pin.

I would do as rdsok suggested.

While I haven't had ANYTHING last as long as a Phoenix bc, I do get several weeks out of my evod coils, but that's with rinsing every couple of fills, dry burning when performance drops, and replacing the flavor wicks when they get dirty.

richardV i noticed the same thing long ago, the phoenix just goes and goes, but the truth is not every system is the same, and if this is happening with different heads then pretty much your looking at 2 causes, one is the amount of wicks your using, for that 50/50 your using i would remove a strand which i know you have done, the second cause could be the type of juice your using, which isnt a bad thing, but its worth mentioning that some juice with certain ingredients, make up and flavor can affect how certain cartos or tanks perform regardless if the phoenix works well, the phoenix was created by the guy that created the ce2 that we all use today in top and bottom style, and even they have a hard time perfecting it but are getting there. If you truly feel juice isnt the cause because of how it performs it other systems, then it could be a combo of what i mentioned or other things, maybe lower your voltage or even raise the voltage and see what that does. lets try to figure this one out all together

I've currently got 12 Evod's in rotation ( with different e-juices in each )... I'm not counting, I'd guess about 1/2 have 2.2 ohm and the other half have 2.5 ohm coil heads but a couple have some 1.8 ohm in them. When I first put any of them on, they do start out higher but soon settle down to their coil's rated ohm ( within .1-.2 of course ). Since I see the same on any vaporizer I use... I don't think much of that "settling in" portion, that part is just the connection finally getting better and nothing else. None of the heads I'm using have changed from that... they all still work within spec. I've been using these since the first of March and I now have 5 additional heads that I use in rotation among those 12 Evods.

My useage method is pretty simple... I'll run a head for anywhere between 3-4 tank fulls... switch the head and toss the dirty one into the cleaning bowl I have... remove the one that was soaking about a day and then dry burn after it has dried. I have yet to thow out any coil at this point.

I also know for a fact that there are fakes out there... I recently got some from a new source ( local B&M since I try to support the local business' here ) that were not Kanger brands. I've since ordered another 5pk of coils from GotVapes ( because I know they carry real Kangers ). Since I now have 5 B&M's to choose from within 3 miles of me... ( and many more just a bit out )... I know to not purchase from that place again. This point is important... if you got them elsewhere you may have gotten fakes/clones and didn't know it.

I think that covers it... my own experience ( with true Kangers ) have been great and they've lasted me for months. Connection issues are common on any vaporizer but usually cleaning takes care of that. Fakes and clones do exist... so be wary of what you buy and where.

Oh... just thought of one more... Go ahead and clean the connections on your PV's also... they need regular cleaning just like anything else and it will also improve your battery life in the process.

Ok. I soaked 3 of them in PGA, dried them & the ohms had jumped up to between 4-5 ohms. I pulled them apart and found the end of the coil going to the center pin was broken or burned off of the coil and must have been touching enough to give a higher ohm reading. I suspected this as I do irrigation repairs and a high ohm reading means either a bad splice in the wire or a wire that is broken and barely touching.
I failed to mention in my first post that 2 of the heads had only been used on my spinner at 3.7 volts. That is only about 5.5 watts. I am trying at 3.3 volts on the next head and will report back with results. My peppermint juice is in the same 50/50 base that I used in the Phoenix I mentioned earlier that is thinned using 6.7% DW. The only differences are the flavor & koolada.

I've used evods and spinners a lot and also at the 3.7-4v range and have never had any issues like you are seeing. I would say the voltage range you have been using (3.7v) is perfectly acceptable.
