Hello All...

I´m getting hard time making my own coil for my EVOD, I was able to do a 1.8ohm coil (using 28g and a 5/64 drill bit), but for some reason I´m not able to make it vapor as the stock coil, let's say that I only get like 20% of vapor than the stock coil....any clue what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks in advance for your help

After you check the ohms, insert the coil (without a wick) into the coil base, put it on your battery and pulse the power. Ie press tje power button, hold for no more than 3 seconds. You will see the coil turn red as it heats up. See if it is red all the way across or just on one spot.

Let me know,

Nancy

I didn't want to do it being worried about melting the gasket....will do it and post results...

I found the 28-30ga wire does not heat fast enough for my tastes on a 3.7v device...like a standard ego battery. I use 32ga wire on a 1/16 inch drill bit. I use the 1/16" bit mainly because it fits across the base of the replacement head thru those slots so that I can hold the coil in place while I but the plugs back in the bottom. 6 wraps gives me 1.9 ohms or so.

My goto kanger build is 30 guage wire, 8 wraps around a 1/16 drill bit, 1.8 ohms every time, and cotton wick.

I would drop you drill bit down and use 6 wraps like above if your using 28 guage wire.

I will try the 1/16 as I had the same issue not being able to fit in the base.

Right now Im using 28g but already ordered 30

Is it possible that the issue could be related to the cotton being too pack?

to ecf Vulcano. I use to love my evod's but I used 32 gauge and never had any problems. I did remove the flavor wick on top because I felt like it performed better. Good luck to you and happy vaping. :)

Thank you....

At this time I'm trying to do some coils, and using the 1/16 and 28g I'm not able to be near the 1.8ohms...(already try 8, 10, and 12 wraps)

with the 5/64 and 28g, Im able to get the 1.8ohms but just about to test it....

Quesiton: If the cotton is too pack inside the coil, does it affect the vapor?

I think your problem is more related to coil size, with an ego battery the 1/16 work best. If your using cotton like rip you should be ok.

I like the 1.8 at 3.8-4.0v idk if you were using the bigger coil at high or low watts.

You inky need cotton through the coil and no flavor wick on top.

Good luck and keep us posted.

I had a hard time getting the right diameter of the kanthal. I'm using a 0.22mm coil wrapped around a toothpick. I coil them to 1.3 to 1.5 ohm and vape'em at my EVOD twists.
Didn't have a problem so far.

I should be getting tomorrow the Kanthal 30g will do some tests with that one, my target is to get something between 1.6 and 1.8
