I just picked up a few new EVOD2 tanks which the little window makes it hard to see how much juice is left. I hate to tear a new tank apart and maybe ruin it.

Ok, you mean the metal skin - yeah... that's why I use the T3S instead. If you like the smaller type the T3S mini (aka the Baby T3) is the same size as the evod. Sun Vapers has both - as do many other vendors. Cignot, Gotvapes....

I had to stop using the T3s due to new juice I'm using, I've already crazed and cracked a few tanks. The EVOD2 are now made with glass.

Has anyone ever taken off the wrapping on a EVOD tank?

I tried to get under the 'skin' with a jeweler’s screwdriver. I thought I would be up against a thin aluminum skin. How wrong I was. Scratched the ....e out of the tank (may have cracked it also) while only getting the edge of the window up 2.5mm. I had to abort the attempt as I need different tools. I'll have to go at it with the dremmel, a cutoff wheel, and a surgeon's touch.

Got to my tools! Here's the teardown.

The brute force technique did not work to well.

A shallow cut with a dremmel cutoff wheel frees the metal jacket from the plastic tank.

The metal jacket slides off the bottom.

Here is the plastic tank, sans metal sleeve. Screwdriver marks on one side, shallow dremmel cuts on the other side. So much for a surgeon's touch. The tank is intact, all it needs to be presentable is a little epoxy to fill the gaps, wet-dry sandpaper, and a buffing wheel.

The metal sleeve rests against the lip molded in the tank.

No molded lip at the bottom. It looks like the threaded ring is inserted after the metal sleeve is in place. Unsure if it is glued in place of if friction holds it in place.

Perhaps the threaded ring could be removed using a hot air gun. I will have to wait for my next Evod to arrive to find out.
