It sounds like you're the victim of Kanger's practice of shipping the Evod with 2.5 ohm coils. Since there is +/- 0.2 ohms variance in the nominal resistance, you could have a coil with 2.7 ohms. I actually had one that came in at 2.8!

Since you have a Twist VV battery, you can up the voltage. The sweet spot for a lot of folks using BCC's is somewhere in the neighborhood of 7.0 - 8.0 watts. Going up to 4.2 to 4.5 volts on the battery gets you there.

You should also shop for coil heads at 1.8, 2.0 and 2.2 ohms.

BCC's do have a cooler vape. But get the right amount of power to the coil and they're solid performers.

Also something that is not mentioned is possibly removing one of the two extra wicks that are on top the coil.

Very simple to do. Wiggle the stalk on the coil until it comes off and take one of two little wicks out and replace the stalk. In my personal experience I get much more flavor. I always take wick out when replacing head.

With my protank flavor also improves after first tank runs through.

Have you tried the practice of removing the top wicks? I was finding the draw on one of my EVODs was a bit hard and removing the top wicks made all the difference. The drawback is that if you draw too hard after that you might end up with a mouth full of juice. Yuck.

There are some good tutorials on youtube about how to do it. There are also tutorials on how to wrap your own coils. I've bought the kanthal and wick but have yet to try it myself. I'm a little nervous about getting the ohms to low and burning out the battery. I need to get a mod that detects ohms before I give it a shot, I think.

If I ever run into PBusardo, I'm gonna break his nose for suggesting that removing the flavor wicks is a good idea.

The flavor wicks are not the problem. The combination of power and resistance given the liquid being atomized is the problem.

The flavor wicks are there for a reason. They prevent leaks and make sure that the right amount of liquid is supplied to the heating element. Remove them, and you defeat that purpose. You also defeat the best way the BCC system has of preventing leaking.

Do not remove the flavor wicks. Change the voltage or change the coil.

Bingo! EVODs are pretty well known for having pretty good flavor, for a clearo, but alot of us rewick/recoil them for the best performance.
You can up the voltage, find lower resistance heads (1.8ohm should work), or recoil them yourself (easy).
Personally, I dont touch clearos anymore, EXCEPT the EVOD which still holds a place in my rotation.
