I'm completely stumped. I have maybe a 10% success rate wrapping coils for my evod. I do about 5 wraps and almost always get low load. I was originally using 28 awg kanthal, then switched to 32 awg kanthal so i didnt have to cram so many wraps in such a tight spot. I multi all my coils and they come out to between 1.3-1.9ohms consistently, and my zmax verifies that ohm to the dot, but then almost immediately it goes low load. I found the thread detailing the excess wire burrs causing a slight short and verified that is not my problem here...
Clearly it is something i am doing because the store bought coils i have never show low load. For the love of all that is holy, please help me fix this. I cant keep spending the time for nought:(

I stole this pic off google images. So you mean the coil cant touch those sides of the body right? Maybe that's what is causing shorting/low load.... Would it??

As for atomizer, its an evod tank with a standard kangar coil that i usually keep around 1.3-1.9ish ohms.

My coils frequently do touch the body the actual coil seats in

Thanks and thanks for the help. Just to add a side note for evod folks, 5wraps over the top 4 on bottom (5/4) with 32awg kanthal, makes a pretty solid 1.5ohm. Add 3.2-3.4v and you'll get some of the best flavor you ever had with some massive vapor

When you talk about wraps and resistance, be sure to include the gauge/diameter of coil. Glad it's working well for you.

I vape some with a smok aro, its a lot like the evod.. sounds like your wrapping it right, IF you have had lots of leaks from old clearos on your Zmax the fluid might be need to be cleaned out. For example, I use a lavatube, (there really awful to clean) and my resistance goes to 0 if I TIGHTEN DOWN THE ARO to much, if i back it up so its loose it vapes real well, try to clean out the well on the zmax from old fluid, that helped mine some the other day.
